Sayyadina Nu'maan bin Bashir (Radhiyallahu 'Anhu) says: "Are you not in the luxuries of eating and drinking Whereas I have seen Rasulullah (Sallallahu 'Alayhi Wasallam) not having ordinary type of dates to full his stomach". Commentary: The Sahaabi's intention was to persuade one to follow the simple life of Sayyidma Rasulullah (Sallallahu 'Alayhi Wasallam) and that one lives in this world for only a short period. When in the Hadith it is denied that Sayyidina Rasulullah (Sallallahu 'Alayhi Wasallam) did not have ordinary dates to fill his stomach than what about bread and curry? |
