Sayyadina Ibn Umar Radiyallahu Anhu reports.. "Hafsah (my sister, Ummul Mu-mineen) related to me that when the time of Fajr began (Subh Saadiq), and the Mu-adh-dhin called out the Adhaan, Rasulullah Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam performed two short Rak-'ahs".

Commentary:
Regarding the Sunnah of fajr, it has been stated in most of the narrations that Sayyidina Rasulullah Sallallahu'Alayhi Wasallam short- ened its Rak'ahs. A narration in the Sahih Muslim is mentioned that Sayyidina Rasullullah Sallallahu 'Alayh Wasallam recited the Surahs of Kaafirun and AI-Ikhlaas in this Sunnah. Other Surahs have also been reported in the Ahaadith. Sayyidina Rasulullah Sallallahu 'Alayhi Wasallam has said. "How wonderful these two Surahs are, that they are recited in the Sunnahs of the Fajr Salaah".

SWEETCORN AND POTATO BAKE

½ onion sliced
½ tsp whole jeera
2 -3 green chillies – cut up
1 tblsp butter/oil
1 x 420g creamstyle sweetcorn
4-5 medium potatoes that has been boiled, peeled and sliced in to rounds
1 cup fresh cream
grated cheese – optional

fry onion in butter/oil with ½ tsp whole jeera and green chillies add sweetcorn and cook for 2 to 3 minutes at the bottom of a pyrex dish pour ½ of sweetcorn, sprinkle some salt and pepper then layer the potatoe slices and pour the other ½ of the sweetcorn. sprinkle some salt and pepper over sweetcorn again and pour freshcream over and grated cheese. bake in pre – heated oven 180c for 10 -15 minutes.
