Sayyadina Nu'maan bin Bashir (Radhiyallahu 'Anhu) says: "Are you not in the luxuries of eating and drinking Whereas I have seen Rasulullah (Sallallahu 'Alayhi Wasallam) not having ordinary type of dates to full his stomach".

Commentary: The Sahaabi's intention was to persuade one to follow the simple life of Sayyidma Rasulullah (Sallallahu 'Alayhi Wasallam) and that one lives in this world for only a short period. When in the Hadith it is denied that Sayyidina Rasulullah (Sallallahu 'Alayhi Wasallam) did not have ordinary dates to fill his stomach than what about bread and curry?

LEMON COOLER RECIPE

• Make a syrup with water and sugar and a little lime cordial.
• Liquidize 2 apples and mint with water.
• Strain and add to cool syrup.
• Then add freshly squeezed lemon juice and a pinch of salt and a pinch of yellow colouring.
