Importance of Preparing the Soul for Ramadan

Firstly understand this: “We are not ONE but TWO.”

This doesn’t mean we aren’t ONE as an Ummah, that we are.

What is meant that each one of us is NOT just made of a human body. In fact, the human body is only the vessel. The Vessel carrying the Soul. So that means that each one of us is, in reality, the caretaker of 2 things: The Human Body and The Soul (Rooh).

The truth is, this should be an eye-opener for all Muslims preparing for Ramadan. In our pre-Ramadan preparation, we get totally engrossed in buying food, storing stock for the month, buying eid clothes, making the resolution of shedding pounds of fat off our bodies etc. Sounds familiar right? read more

  As South Africa commemorated Human Rights Day on 21 March, SA Harvest staff were busy at work hoping to ensure that millions of South Africans do not go hungry.

  According to KZN operations manager for food rescue organisation, SA Harvest, Lindsay Hopkins, some 10 million tons of food is dumped on landfills every year in South Africa while millions of people go to bed hungry. Sunnah Occasions For Ghusl

Question: When is it Sunnah to take a Ghusl?

Answer: It is Sunnah to take a Ghusl on the following occasions:

1. On a Friday.
2. On the day of Eid.
3. For the person performing Hajj to take a Ghusl after Zawaal (mid-day)on the day of Aarafah (ninth of Dhul-Hijjah).
4. When donning the Ihraam for Hajj or Umrah.

YOU CAN USE CHICKEN FILLETS OR CHICKEN QUARTERS

• Chilli Garlic Masala..
• Salt to taste
• Tandoori Masala
• Lemon Juice
• Red Chillies (optional)
• Dry Dhana
• Thick Yoghurt
• Oil

Marinate chicken in above and braai over hot coals.

Size 8 Shoes

A guy walks into a shoe store and asks for a pair of shoes, size 8. The obviously well trained salesman says, "But sir, you take an 11 or eleven-and-a-half."

"Just bring me a size 8."

The sales guy brings them and the man stuffs his feet into them and stands up in obvious pain. He turns to the salesman and says, "I've lost my house to the I.R.S., I live with my mother-in-law, my daughter ran off with my best friend, and my business has filed insolvency."

"The only pleasure I have left is to come home at night and take my shoes off."
