Consumer Rights: Part 4

Consumer Rights in the Noble Quran

Protecting consumers from malpractices of traders and commercial organizations is an important responsibility of any and every government or state. The Noble Qur’an has laid down the basic structure of consumer protection some 1,400 years ago which are as valid today as they were during the golden age of the Prophet ﷺ and the rightly guided caliphs. The Holy Qur’an categorically denounces all unfair means of trade and business dealings as seen in Surah An-Nisa:

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لَا تَأْكُلُوٓا۟ أَمْوَٰلَكُم بَيْنَكُم بِٱلْبَٰطِلِ إِلَّآ أَن تَكُونَ تِجَٰرَةً عَن تَرَاضٍ مِّنكُمْ ۚ وَلَا تَقْتُلُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَكُمْ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ بِكُمْ رَحِيمًا

“O believers! Do not consume one another’s wealth through unlawful means; instead, do business with mutual consent; do not kill yourselves (by adopting unlawful means). Indeed Allah is Merciful to you.” (Qur’an, 4:29) read more

• Why we need to stop asking certain Questions

  There is so much pressure on us as individuals, we have to deal with the global pandemic and now that lockdown restrictions have eased we have to deal with the local panchaat groups.

  At weddings, when a girl or boy who is at the age of 25 and not married, remarks and winks will be made. If you are a married couple and have no children between the biryani and the dessert you will be nudged and asked how many years are you married and why are there no children yet.

  Every social event is almost an ambush for many, let me not start about having gained or lost weight! You are not safe from the catastrophe of small talk that involves asking you questions you cannot, and most definitely do not want to answer. more
  

The Prophet Muhammad (Sallallahu Alayhi Wa Sallam) has said: "Allah has ninety-nine names, i.e. one-hundred minus one, and whoever knows them will go to Paradise." (Sahih Bukhari 50:894)

Abu Huraira RA reported Allah's Messenger (Sallallahu Alayhi Wa Sallam) as saying: "There are ninety-nine names of Allah; he who commits them to memory would get into Paradise. Verily, Allah is Odd (He is one, and it is an odd number) and He loves odd numbers.." (Sahih Muslim Book-48 Hadith-5)

Greek Tarragon Pies

GREEK TERAGON TRIANGLES

Pastry

• 3 cups flour
• 250g butter
• Pinch of salt
• 250ml sour cream

Filling

• 1kg cubed chicken
• Salt
• Arad
• Jeero
• Cook till done

Braise
1 tblsp butter and 1 tblsp flour. Add to half cup milk: ¼ cup Steers garlic sauce, red chillies fine, white pepper. Lastly, add Nando wild herbs sauce and Nandos Peri Peri... add sauce to chicken and one cup grated cheese Roll out dough like round small purees fold like triangle and paste brush with egg sprinkle tal and rough red chilli/paprika and parsley, then bake.

Scrimping and Saving
