Seeking Forgiveness By Sh Umar As-Subayyil - Imaam of Haram The situation of the best amongst the pious and guided people is that when they sin, they seek Allaah's forgiveness and when they commit errors, they repent. The Prophet Sallallaahu Alayhi wa Sallam said, "All the sons of Adam are sinners and the best among the sinners are those who repent.' (Ahmad and others) It is a manifestation of the mercy of Allaah upon his slaves that He stretches out His Hand during the night so that those who sin during the day may repent and stretches His Hand out during the day in order for those who sinned during the night to repent. He forgives all sins. People should therefore not despair of the mercy of their Lord however great and many their sins may be. The Prophet Muhammad (Sallallahu Alayhi Wa Sallam) has said: "Allah has ninety-nine names, i.e. one-hundred minus one, and whoever knows them will go to Paradise." (Sahih Bukhari 50:894) Abu Huraira RA reported Allah's Messenger (Sallallahu Alayhi Wa Sallam) as saying: "There are ninety-nine names of Allah; he who commits them to memory would get into Paradise. Verily, Allah is Odd (He is one, and it is an odd number) and He loves odd numbers.." (Sahih Muslim Book-48 Hadith-5) الْحَفِيظُAL-HAFEETH: The Preserver, The All-Heedful and All-Protecting The One Whose power preserves the heavens and the earth. He is the Guardian and Preserver of all the worlds. Al-Hafeedh is heedful of all the actions that we perform by His Knowledge and He protects His slaves from all kinds of hardship and evil. |
