Firing Up Commitment During Organisational Change

A corporate cultural expert says change in any form has a destructive streak and within organisations, change can often weaken work commitment.

Helene Vermaak from The Human Edge says the key to avoiding the destructive streak that change can leave on an organisation is for the leadership team to build a burning level of job commitment, as soon as possible.

Fulfilling A Vow

A person takes a vow that if a certain wish or work of his is fulfilled, he will undertake to carry out a certain act of ibaadah. Once this wish or work of his is fulfilled, it will be wajib upon him to carry out the act of ibaadah which he vowed to carry out. If he does not fulfil this vow, he will be committing a great sin. A father says: “ O Allah! If my son passes his exams , I will keep five fast for Your pleasure.”

BAKED VEGETABLES IN FRESH CREAM

Ingredients

½ butternut
2 small sweet potatoes
2 small gem squash
½ tin cream style sweetcorn
1 cup fresh cream
salt to taste
lemon pepper
green chilies to taste

Method

Cube the sweet potato and butternut. steam all the vegetables with salt and pepper. scoop flesh out of the gem squash and put all the steamed vegetables in a casserole dish. mix creamstyle sweetcorn with fresh cream, salt and crushed green chillies to taste. pour over vegetables and bake in oven for 15 to 20 minutes.
