Surah Ar-Rahman (The All-Merciful)
This Surah is Madani, and it has 78 verses and 3 sections
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Most-Merciful
"...and fragrant flowers..." 55:12
COMMENTARY: The popular meaning of the word 'Raihaan' is fragrance or fragrant plant or sweet-scented plants.
Ibn Zaid has interpreted the word thus in the current verse. Allah has produced a variety of fragrances and sweet-smelling flowers on plants and trees. Sometimes the word 'Raihaan' is used in the sense of livelihood and sustenance. It is said in Arabic: 'Kharajtu Atluba Raihaan Allah (I came out looking for the sustenance provided by Allah.) Sayyidna Ibn Abbas RA interprets it in this strain.

POEM |
SABR
One word, so heavy, so light
One word, so complete, so right
In good times and bad, through struggles that were had
A simple extension of faith, but how difficult it is to wait…
Through illness and health, poverty and wealth
When things fall apart, when life will depart
Remember that the Prophets of Allah had endured
Their families and friends too, In the name of their Lord
Remember the hardships that they each had to face
Remember their patience, remember their grace
Remember their acceptance, and gratitude and faith
Remember that they too, had to wait
Remember Nabi (Sallallahu Alayhi Wa Sallam) when he knew his fate
Remember his trials, remember his tests
Remember he knew that after him would be unrest
Remember his path was also filled with pain
Allah SWT’s most Beloved, but tested the same
Remember that our Imaan withstood the hate
Remember the Sahaba’e Ikram, and the Ahlul bait
Remember their losses, remember their tears
And bow down and prostrate, Allah knows your fears
And it will come to you, like it came to those before
Sabr… One word, so heavy, so light…One word, so complete, so right

THE
SMILE |
IN AN INTERVIEW...
“When did your country get independence?” He was asked.
“The efforts began a few years earlier and the final result was in 1947? He replied.
“Who was responsible for your independence?”
“There were so many. Whom to mention? If I name one, it will be an injustice to another.” He replied.
“Is corruption the number one enemy in your country?”
“Some research is going on the subject and I can answer with certainly only after seeing the report.” He replied.
The interview board was very pleased with his original and thoughtful answers and asked him not to reveal the questions to others, since they were planning to ask the same questions.
When he went out naturally others were curious to know what was asked. He politely declined, but one persistent Mr.Dumbo would not leave him. “At least tell me the answers” he pleaded, and our friend obliged.
Then it was the turn of Mr.Dumbo. When he went inside, since his resume was slightly illegible, the board member asked him. “By the way, what is your date of birth?”
He replied, “The effort began a few years earlier and the final result was in 1947.”
Somewhat puzzled, they asked another clarification. “What is your father’s name?”
He replied, “There were so many. Whom to mention. If I name one, it will be injustice to another”.
The interviewer was incensed.
"Hey! Are you mad or what?"
He replied. “Some research is going on the subject. I can answer with certainty only after seeing the report.”
