After 21 years of marriage, my wife wanted me to take another woman out to dinner. She said I love you but I know this other woman loves you and would love to spend some time with you. The other woman that my wife wanted me to visit was my MOTHER, who has been a widow for 19 years, but the demands of my work and my three children had made it possible to visit her only occasionally. That night I called to invite her to go out for dinner. "What's wrong, are you well," she asked? My mother is the type of woman who suspects that a late night call or a surprise invitation is a sign of bad news. "I thought that it would be pleasant to be with you," I responded. When one has placed one’s foot in the conveyance and is about to climb in it, one should say: (Bismillah). (Tirmidhi) After settling down on the conveyance say: (Allahu Akbar) thrice and thereafter recite the following Dua: (SUBHANALLATHEE SAKHARA LANAA HAATHAA WAMAA KUNNAA, LAHOO MUQRENEEN, WA INAA ILAA RUBBINAA LA MUNQALIBOON) “Glory be to the one who has subjugated this for us whereas we were not able to subjugate it on our own. SWEETCORN AND POTATO BAKE fry onion in butter/oil with ½ tsp whole jeera and green chillies add sweetcorn and cook for 2 to 3 minutes at the bottom of a pyrex dish pour ½ of sweetcorn, sprinkle some salt and pepper then layer the potatoe slices and pour the other ½ of the sweetcorn. sprinkle some salt and pepper over sweetcorn again and pour freshcream over and grated cheese. bake in pre – heated oven 180c for 10 -15 minutes. |
