Surah Al-Hadeed 57: - (The Iron)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Most-Merciful
…”Those who spent before the Conquest [of Makkah], and those who fought [in Allah's way], are not at par [with others]...” 10
COMMENTARY: The people, who embraced Islam before conquest of Makkah, were witnessing the small number and political weakness of the Muslims and the consequent hardships. Muslims were very small in number and they were weak, on account of which the pagans persecuted them. Especially in the early days of Islam, disclosing one's faith in Islam would amount to losing his life, hearth and home. It is obvious that those who put their lives at stake by embracing Islam in such circumstances, and offered their lives and wealth for the help of the Noble Prophet (Sallallahu Alayhi Wa Sallam) and for the service of Islam had such a high level of sincerity in their faith and practice that no other people can be compared to them.

All Over The World, People Being Oppressed...
All over the world, people being oppressed, voices of the tortured constantly being suppressed,
Every incident worthy of interest, deserving through our utmost efforts, to be addressed.
Literally going through every waking moment like it's their last,
So focused on barely even surviving, unable to enjoy any second passed,
Life ticking by ever so slowly, while bullets zing them by, threateningly fast,
All they can do is just watch and listen to the bloodshed and torture aghast.
Nothing said, and nothing done, can bring back their dear and loved ones,
Not even retaliation through words, explosives, or even guns.
Shattered dreams, broken hearts, day by day, night by night,
Limbs being broken, senses damaged, people being crushed tight,
Despondency all around, people losing the desire to fight,
The question now is, how do we react to this pitiful plight?
First things first, however cliché this may sound, remember them in your thoughts and prayers,
For the prayers ARE being heard, the thoughts ARE appreciated, contrary to the naysayers.
The creator and sustainer will never let a concern or supplication be in vain,
As long as we're consistent, and don't get insensitive to the cries of help and pain.
Next matter's extremely crucial too, to turn our pity and sympathy, into empathy and compassion,
To not only know and care about their situations, but to feel, and be a part of their conditions with our actions.
Envision their unexplainable pain, picture their unending sufferings,
Put yourself in their shoes, imagine how much agony every heartbeat brings.
Last but not least, and don't you ever forget this, EVERY little action counts,
Every cent, every letter, every speech, every program, holds significant clout.
Never underestimate EVERY single contribution, whether from father, mothers, daughters, or sons,
Always remember that pebbles build up to boulders, as do drops of water, form oceans...

Too Much Information
"Hello! Is this Gordon's Pizza?"
"No sir, it's Google's Pizza."
"Did I dial the wrong number?
"No sir, Google bought the pizza store."
"Oh, alright then. I’d like to place an order please."
"Okay sir, do you want the usual?"
"The usual? You know what my usual is?"
"According to the caller ID, the last 15 times you’ve ordered a 12-slice with double-cheese, sausage, and thick crust."
"Okay, that’s what I want this time too."
"May I suggest that this time you order an 8-slice with ricotta, arugula, and tomato instead?"
"No, I hate vegetables."
"But your cholesterol is not good."
"How do you know?"
"Through the subscribers guide. We have the results of your blood tests for the last 7 years."
"You know what, I'm sick of Google, Facebook, Twitter, and everyone else having all my information! I'm going to an island without internet, where there’s no cellphone line, and no one to spy on me!"
"I understand sir. But you may want to renew your passport... it expired 5 weeks ago."
