Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (Peace Be Upon Him) said, "When any one of you sleeps, Satan ties three knots at the back of his neck. He recites this incantation at every knot: `You have a long night, so sleep.' If he awakes and remembers Allah, one knot is loosened. If he performs Wudu', the (second) knot is loosened; and if he performs prayer, (all) knots are loosened. He begins his morning in a happy and refreshed mood; otherwise, he gets up in bad spirits and sluggish state.'' [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]

Commentary: "Tying knots'' can be literal, the way magicians do it in their magical exercises. With this practice Satan tries to withhold people from the worship of Allah. Some people are of the opinion that it is a metaphor for sleepiness/dozing. In any case, Satan does his level best to withhold a person from the worship of Allah. Satan experiences frustration if someone gets up at night for prayer; he also experiences happiness if he manages to keep someone asleep until dawn.

SAVOURY RICE

Ingredients

30ml Sunflower oil - 30ml Butter - 1 Large onion thinly sliced - 1 green pepper seeded and chopped - 1 tomato chopped - 5ml chilli powder or crushed dried red chillies - 10ml methi masala - 5ml salt - 500ml frozen mixed vegetables 500ml long grain rice - 60ml butter.

Method
Heat oil and 30ml butter in a large saucepan and braise onions until golden. Reserve a third of the onions for garnishing. Add green peppers and tomato to the saucepan with chilli powder methi masala and salt and simmer for 15 mins
add frozen veggies and simmer for 10 mins Meanwhile parboil rice for 15 mins in lightly salted water Rinse drain and add to saucepan with veggies. Dot with 60ml butter and add reserved braised onion. Steam covered over medium heat for 15 mins

Bubba and Junior were standing at the base of a flagpole, looking up.
A woman walked by and asked what they were doing. "We're supposed to find the height of the flagpole," said Bubba, "but we do not have a ladder." The woman took a wrench from her purse, loosened a few bolts, and laid the pole down. Then she took a tape measure from her pocket, took a measurement and announced, "Eighteen feet, six inches," and walked away.

Junior shook his head and laughed. "Ain't that just like a dumb! We asked for the height, and she gave us the length!"
