THE PROPHET’S BIOGRAPHY: THE WAY OUT OF ORDEALS

His Eminence Sheikh Saleh ibn Abdullah ibn Humaid –May Allah protect him– delivered this Friday khutbah entitled “The Prophet’s Biography: The Way out of Ordeals.” He talked about the biography of the Prophet –May Allah’s Salat and Peace be upon him– as a way of life which every Muslim should seek to understand and adhere to. He also explained that the way out of the ordeals and crises engulfing the Ummah resides in studying this redolent biography and using it as a source of inspiration. The Sheikh also commended the large Islamic Coalition set up for cementing the ranks of the Ummah in the face of the perils surrounding it from all directions as well as the terrorist groups, regardless of their affiliation. read more

VEGETABLE KEBAABS

1 packet ready made vegetable skewers with fresh rosemary or make up your own by threading chunks of fresh vegetables onto a wooden skewer. Marinade
175ml olive oil - 15ml harissa paste - 15ml caraway seeds - Generous pinch of cumin and turmeric - 1-2 cloves of garlic.

Place vegetable skewers in dish big enough to have them in a single layer. Combine the marinade ingredients pour over vegetable kebabs and rub over kebabs. Leave for at least one hour to marinate. Just before eating place over coals or grill under a pre- heated grill until brown and cooked through. Serve immediately.

FRESH OUT OF BUSINESS SCHOOL

Fresh out of business school, the young man answered a want ad for an accountant. Now he was being interviewed by a very nervous man who ran a small business that he had started himself.

I need someone with an accounting degree, the man said. But mainly, I’m looking for someone to do my worrying for me.
Excuse me? the accountant said.
I worry about a lot of things, the man said. But I don’t want to have to worry about money. Your job will be to take all the money worries off my back.
I see, the accountant said. And how much does the job pay?
I’ll start you at eighty thousand.
Eighty thousand dollars! the accountant exclaimed. How can such a small business afford a sum like that?

That, the owner said, is your first worry.
