PERSONALITY |
ABU BAKR AL-MAKHZOOMI RA (000 - 94 AH)
Abu Bakr bin Abd Ar-Rahman bin Al-Harith bin Hishaam Al-Makhzoomi Al-Qurashi was one of the seven eminent jurists of the Taabi'een, (the generation that followed the Sahaabah {the Companions of the Prophet}). He was called 'Raahib' (the monk or friar) by the Quraysh, due to his prayers and fasting.
He was an authoritative source, a reliable scholar and was known for his generosity. He heard noble Hadith (traditions of the Prophet - Peace be upon him) from a number of the esteemed Companions (Sahaabah) of the Prophet (Peace be upon him), which he comprehended and then memorised. Celebrated for his education of jurisprudential decisions from texts, the people abided by his legal opinions. Blind, he died in the year 94 AH and was buried in Al-Baqi'a, (the cemetery of Madinah Al-Munawwarah).

LAWNMOWER WORDS
A small boy was pushing a gasoline-powered lawnmower down the street with a "For Sale" sign on it.
A man stopped him asked if the mower would run. The boy told him it would, so the man bought it.
A while later, the boy was walking past the man's house and saw him pulling repeatedly on the starting rope with no success.
The man noticed the boy and said, "I thought you told me this mower would run!"
The boy replied, "Well you have to use some cuss words to make it start."
The Man responded, "Son, I'm a preacher; I don't know any cuss words!"
"You keep pulling on that starter rope and some'll come to you!"
