Surah Al-Waqiah 56: - (The Imminent Event)

With the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Most-Merciful

“It will be abasing (some), exalting (others).” [3]

COMMENTARY: (It will be abasing [some], exalting [others]. .. 56:3). The verse means that the 'Inevitable Event' referred to in the previous verse will bring about a great revolution in the lives of men, as is witnessed at the time of revolution of governments. The high and the mighty will be laid low and the despised and down-trodden will be exalted; the poor become rich and the rich become poor. This is how Sayyidna lbn Abbas RA interprets this statement. The purpose is to depict the horrors of the Day of Resurrection.

POEM

Praise be to He,
the Most Sublime,
who simply says be
& atoms intertwine!

Glory be to He
who created time;
when used wisely,
the reward's divine!

Greatest is He
who placed a sign
in all that we see -
an artistry so fine!

Thanks due to He
for the sunshine,
moonlit night sky
and the shoreline.

Thanks due to He
for blessings divine
& for letting us see
this sacred month nine.

THE SMILE

WEDLOCK WONDER

Though the vocabulary words we were learning in my second-grade class sort of sounded the same, they had very different meanings.
This concept was not lost on one bright boy who knew what those differences were:

"When people marry more than once, it's called polygamy. But when people marry only once, it's called monotony."
