THE STORY
THE SAND CASTLE AND THE WAVES

One day Abdullah, a young man, had a fight with his wife and was really upset over the matter. He decided to go to the sea shore to spend some time and relax.

When Abdullah was sitting on the beach he saw two children, a boy and a girl, playing in the sand. They were busy building a detailed sandcastle by the water’s edge with several gates and passages and towers and fosse.

Just when they were almost done building their beautiful castle, a big wave came along and knocked it down, reducing it to a heap of wet sand.

Abdullah saw this and he expected the children to burst into tears, ravaged and devastated by what had happened to their beautiful castle they spent all the time and energy working on, but Abdullah saw something else. The sight surprised Abdullah. Instead of crying, the two little children ran up the shore away from the water, laughing and holding hands, and sat down to build another castle.

The little children taught Abdullah a great lesson. He realized that all the things in our lives, all the complicated structures we spend so much time and energy creating, are indeed built on sand and are bound to be destroyed someday. He ran home and apologized to her wife and expressed his love for her.

Moral of the Story: Only our relationships to other people remain. Sooner or later, the wave will come along and knock down all our possessions that we acquired through all the hard work. When that happens, only the person who has somebody’s hand to hold will be able to laugh. Take care of your relationships before it’s too late. Express your love and respect to your near and dear ones before the wave comes along.

Abu Hurayrah Radhiyallahu anhu says: "Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wasallam said: 'Deeds are presented (before Allah subhanahu wata'allah) on Mondays and Thursdays. I desire that my deeds be presented whilst I am fasting'". (TIRMIZI)

Commentary: In a narration in Sahih Muslim regarding Monday, it has been stated that "I was born on a Monday; the revealing of the Quran to me also began on a Monday". In one Hadith it is stated that "Allah Ta'alah forgives the sins of every Muslim (provided the rules apply) on Mondays and Thursdays".

RECIPE
KIRI CHEESE KEBAAB

1 kg chicken mince
1 big onion (grated)
4 potatoes boiled and mashed
1 tsp salt or to taste
1 tsp pepper
2 tblsp green masala
2 eggs
1 tblsp dhana jeeru
Freshly chopped parsley & dhana
Mix well together.

2 boxes Kiri cheese
2 punnets mushrooms (finely cubed)

Steam mushrooms with salt and pepper and butter, when cool mix with kiri cheese. Make small balls with the Kiri cheese and mushrooms. Thereafter take kebab mixture and pat around the Kiri cheese and mushroom balls, to form a ball around the kiri cheese. So basically the kiri cheese will be in the centre of the kebab. THE SMILE

The telephone rings in the principal's office at a school.

"Hello, this is Dunn Elementary," answers the principal.

"Hi. Jimmy won't be able to come to school all next week," replies the voice.
"Well, what seems to be the problem with him?"

We are all going on a family vacation," says the voice,

"I hope it is all right."

"I guess that would be fine," says the principal. "May I ask who is calling?"

"Sure. This is my father!"
