THE FOLLOWERS OF THE PROPHET’s (Sallallahu Alayhi Wa Sallam) BLISS

Our Prophet Muhammad (Sallallahu Alayhi Wa Sallam) came to all people with a heavenly message. He was not driven by worldly ambitions, He had no treasure from which to spend, no splendid gardens from which to eat and no castle in which to live in.

Despite all of this, his loving followers pledged allegiance to him and remained steadfast. enduring a hard life full of difficulties. They were few and weak, always in fear of being uprooted by those surrounding them. and yet they loved the Prophet (Sallallahu Alayhi Wa Sallam) wholly and completely.

They were deprived of their homes, country, families and wealth. They were driven out from the playing fields of their childhood and from the homes in which they were raised. Despite all of this suffering they loved him unequivocally. The believers faced trials because of his message. The very ground under them was shaken violently. and yet their love for him continued to grow.

So, why did they love him and why were they so happy with him? Why did they forget the pain, the suffering and the hardship that resulted from following him?

To put it simply, he epitomized benevolence and righteousness. They perceived in him all the signs of truth and purity. He was a symbol for those who sought out higher things, With his tenderness he cooled the rancor from the hearts of the people, with words of truth he soothed their chests and with his message he filled their souls with peace.

If oil has been applied on the head, hands or feet in such a way that when water is poured, it passes off without wetting those parts, then there is no harm in this. Once water has been poured on the entire head and body, the Ghusl will be complete.

MUTTON AND VEGETABLE STEW

30ml cooking oil
2 onions, thinly sliced
600g mutton or lamb, cubed
5 whole cloves
5 whole allspice
5ml salt (or to taste)
10ml crushed, dried red chilies
2, 5 ml grated nutmeg
10ml sugar
500 ml frozen mixed vegetables
150ml water

Method:
Heat oil in large saucepan and braise onions until golden, 5-10 minutes. Add well - washed and drained meat, cover and braise slowly for approximately 30 minutes or until meat is fairly tender. Add cloves, allspice, salt, chillies and nutmeg and cook, uncovered, over high heat for about 10 minutes or until meat has browned well, adding sugar to help the browning. Add frozen mixed vegetables and water and cook, covered, over moderate heat for about 15 minutes. Serve on a bed of white rice.

Variation:
Soak 125 ml sago in 250ml water for 15 minutes. Add to stew after adding frozen vegetables and cook, covered, over low heat until sago is transparent, about 15 minutes. Serve with Mashed potatoes.

TORNADO

A tornado hit a farmhouse just before dawn one morning. It lifted the roof off, picked up the beds, on which the farmer and his wife slept, and set them down gently in the next property.

Suddenly the wife began to cry. "Don't be scared," her husband said. "We're not hurt."

She continued to cry. "I'm not scared," she responded between sobs. "I'm happy 'cause this is the first time in 14 years we've been out together."
