Surah Al-Waqiah 56: - (The Imminent Event)

With the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Most-Merciful

(..."many from the earlier generations, and of a small number from the later ones..."56:13-14)

COMMENTARY: The word 'Thullatun', means 'a party, group, company'. Zamakhshari says that 'Thullatun' refers to 'a throng or a large number of people'. Who are ~Al-Awwalin (earlier generations) and.) 'Akhirin' (later ones). The words 'Awwallin' (earlier generations) and 'Akhirin' (later ones) are used twice: First, in connection with As-sabiqun (the Foremost) who are favoured with special Divine nearness; and secondly, in connection with Ashab-ul-yamin [the People of the Right, or the general body of believers]. In the case of the 'Foremost' it is mentioned that there will be 'many' from amongst the 'awwalin' (earlier generations) who will be categorized as 'the Foremost', but from amongst the later generations, the number of the 'Foremost' will be smaller. As opposed to this, in the description of the People of the Right, the word 'thullah' (many) is applied to both 'earlier' and 'later' generations in the following words: ..."Many from the first generations, and many from the later ones..." 56:39-40)

POEM
Where have you gone?

I dedicate this poem to my son Shiraaz, always remember as Gladys Knight would say: "You're the best thing, that ever happened to me"

You were born with much difficulty
Stubborn from the word go
You wanted to have your say
And you let that show

You always had the mischievous ways
Always looking for something to do
Your smile had a way of melting everyone's hearts
And being the first born
Made you get your way... read more

Keeping Secrets

At a dinner party, several of the guests were arguing whether men or women were more trustworthy. "No woman," said one man, scornfully, "can keep a secret."

"I don't know about that," answered a woman guest. "I have kept my age a secret since I was twenty-one."

"You'll let it out some day," the man insisted.

"I hardly think so!" responded the lady. "When a woman has kept a secret for twenty-seven years, she can keep it forever."
