THE SEASON OF HAJJ AND THE EXPIATION OF SINS By Sheikh Abdul-Bari ibn Awwad al-Thubaiti - 14 Thul Hijjah 1437 His Eminence Sheikh Abdul-Bari ibn Awwad al-Thubaiti, may Allah preserve him, delivered the Friday Khutbah entitled, “The Season of Hajj and the Expiation of Sins,” in which he talked about the season of pilgrimage to the Sacred Mosque in Makkah, whose rituals were almost concluded, and the pilgrims’ preparation to return to their homelands. He stated that one of the greatest virtues of performing this rite is the expiation of one’s sins, showing that pilgrims return home as sinless as they were the day they were born. He also reminded the pilgrims of the necessity of maintaining their records of deeds clean from sins, referring to a number of virtuous deeds with which Allah expiates His servants’ sins. read more |

TAKBIR AT-TASHRIQ The words of Takbir at-Tashriq are: الله أكبر الله أكبر لا إله إلا الله والله أكبر الله أكبر ولله الحمد Transliteration: Allahu Akbar Allahu Akbar Laa Ilaaha illallaahu wa Allahu Akbar Allahu Akbar wa lillahi al-hamd Translation: Allah is the Greatest. Allah is the Greatest. There is no deity worthy of worship but Him. Allah is the Greatest. Allah is the Greatest. And for Allah is all praises. It is Wajib (compulsory) to read the Takbir at-Tashriq once audibly immediately after every congregational and non-congregational Fardh Salah and Jumu`ah Salah, whether a traveller or non-traveller, a male or female, from the Fajr prayer of the day of Arafat (9th Thul Hajj) to Asr of the fifth day (14th Thul Hajj).
