Surah Al-Hadeed 57: - (The Iron)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Most-Merciful

…”Those who spent before the Conquest [of Makkah], and those who fought [in Allah's way], are not at par [with others]...” 10

COMMENTARY: The verses under comment contain the phrase (…”though Allah has promised the good (reward) for each ... [57:10] Allah Ta'ala proclaims that those who have received the good news of reward [al-Husna] will be kept far away from Hell. The Qur'an thus guarantees that all the Companions, whether from the first category or from the second one, are immune from Hell. Even if someone from them would commit a sin, he will not persist in it, but he will either repent from it, or will be forgiven for it because of the blessed company of the Noble Prophet (Sallallahu Alayhi Wa Sallam) he enjoyed, his help offered to him, the good deeds he performed and many services he rendered to Islam. Therefore, he would not leave this world unless his sins would be forgiven and his account of deeds would have been clear. It is also possible that worldly calamities would serve as an expiation to wipe out his shortcomings or painful experience in the grave or 'Alam-ul-Barzakh’ (The stage between the grave and the hereafter) will expiate his faults.

CHICKEN STRIPS IN MUSHROOM AND PEPPER SAUCE

350g chicken breasts – cut into strips
1 onion halved and sliced
1 small green pepper thinly sliced
½ a punnet mushrooms – sliced
2 tablespoons oil
125ml milk or cream
1 tsp maizena to thicken
salt & pepper to taste
some garlic to taste
lemon juice

METHOD:

1. Fry onions in oil until glassy,
2. Add green peppers, garlic, mushrooms and cook for 8 minutes and season.
3. Add cream or milk and maizena – mix well.
4. Turn heat on low and add chicken, cook until done.
5. Serve with rice.
