CALLING TO ALLAH: METHOD AND EXEMPLARY MODEL

His Eminence Sheikh Osama ibn Abdullah Khayyat – May Allah protect him – delivered this Friday Khutbah titled “Calling to Allah: Method and Exemplary Model” in which he talked about the Da'wah (call) to Allah and its honourable status. He also explained how it allowed Islam to reach the four corners of the earth. The Sheikh also elaborated on the methods of calling to Allah that every Da’iyah (caller to Islam) should adopt and uphold. AN ADDITIONAL DUA FOR AFTER WUDHU

It is reported by way of 'Abi Sa`eed that the Prophet (Sallallahu Alayhi Wa Sallam) said: "Whoever performs Wudhu' then says after he has completed his Wudhu': Subhãnaka 'allãhumma wa bihamdika, 'ash-hadu 'an lã 'ilãha 'illa 'anta, 'astaghfiruka wa 'atoobu 'ilayka,

it would be written on vellum then sealed; thereafter, it would not be broken till The Day of Resurrection".

TRANS: Glorified are You O' my 'ilãh and I am in Your praise, I testify that there is no 'ilah except You, I ask Your forgiveness and repent unto You.

MUTTON AND VEGETABLE STEW

30ml cooking oil
2 onions, thinly sliced
600g mutton or lamb, cubed
5 whole cloves
5 whole allspice
5ml salt (or to taste)
10ml crushed, dried red chilies
2, 5 ml grated nutmeg
10ml sugar
500 ml frozen mixed vegetables
150ml water

Method:
Heat oil in large saucepan and braise onions until golden, 5-10 minutes. Add well - washed and drained meat, cover and braise slowly for approximately 30 minutes or until meat is fairly tender. Add cloves, allspice, salt, chillies and nutmeg and cook, uncovered, over high heat for about 10 minutes or until meat has browned well, adding sugar to help the browning. Add frozen mixed vegetables and water and cook, covered, over moderate heat for about 15 minutes. Serve on a bed of white rice.

Variation:
Soak 125 ml sago in 250ml water for 15 minutes. Add to stew after adding frozen vegetables and cook, covered, over low heat until sago is transparent, about 15 minutes. Serve with Mashed potatoes.

DENTIST VISIT

When they came in, I greeted them warmly, seated Kelsey, and, as usual, put on my gloves, goggles, and mask.
About ten minutes into the procedure, Kelsey got scared and cried, "I want my mommy!"
I quickly pulled off my mask and said, "I AM your mommy."
Without hesitation, my daughter yelled back, "Then I want my granny!"
