Sheikh Saleh ibn Abdullah ibn Humaid - 12 Rabee Ath-Thaani 1437 His Eminence Sheikh Saleh ibn Abdullah ibn Humaid –May Allah protect him– delivered this Friday Khutbah titled “The Necessity of Showing Gratitude for Almighty Allah’s Blessings” in which he spoke about the blessings of Almighty Allah bestowed on His servants and the necessity of being thankful for them, especially the blessing of security and stability which the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is enjoying. When the Messenger of Allah would start his Salaah he would be silent for a moment before beginning to recite. So Abu Hurayrah RA said: O' Messenger of Allah! With my father, and my mother [I would sacrifice them for you], you know your silence between the Takbeer and the recitation, what are you saying [during it]? He said: I say: 'Allãhumma bã`id baynee wa bayna khatãyãya kamã bã`adta bayna 'almashriqi wal-maghribi, 'allãhumma naqqinee min khatayãyã kamã yunaqqã 'ath-thawbul 'abyadhu min 'addanasi, 'allãhumma 'ighsilnee min khatãyãya bith-thalji wal-mã'i wal-baradi O Allah make the distance between myself and my wrong-doings as You have made the distance between the East and the West, O' my Allah purify me of my wrong-doings as a white garment is purified of dirt, O' my Allah wash me of my wrong-doings with snow, water, and hail. ~ Bukhari and Muslim ~ |

SWEETCORN AND POTATO BAKE
½ onion sliced fry onion in butter/oil with ½ tsp whole jeera and green chillies add sweetcorn and cook for 2 to 3 minutes at the bottom of a pyrex dish pour ½ of sweetcorn, sprinkle some salt and pepper then layer the potatoe slices and pour the other ½ of the sweetcorn. sprinkle some salt and pepper over sweetcorn again and pour freshcream over and grated cheese. bake in pre – heated oven 180c for 10 -15 minutes. |
