SWEET RICE OR JARDO

Ingredients
12 Cups water. ¼ piece of lemon. ½ tsp turmeric powder. 4 pieces cinnamon stick. 2 or 3 each cardoman pods . A few whole cloves (optional). 4 cups tastic rice washed. 3 ¾ cups sugar. ¼ tsp saffron. 6 tblsps ghee. Dried fruit/ almonds / cherries / pineapple.

Method
Place the water lemon turmeric cinnamon cardamom and cloves in a pot over heat. Bring to the boil rapidly then add rice and stir. Boil till well done, drain in a colander at once. Boil sugar and water to form syrup and add boiled rice to the syrup. Braise mix fruit, almonds, cherries & pineapple in ghee, add syrup and stir in rice. Add saffron. Allow to cook over slow heat until syrup burns out completely. Serve hot ? decorated with coloured almonds and shredded fresh coconut.

WHO GETS THE JOB

A businessman was interviewing applicants for the position of Divisional Manager. He devised a simple test to select the most suitable person for the job. He asked each applicant the question, "What is two and two"?

The first interviewee was a journalist. His answer was "twenty-two."

The second applicant was an engineer. He pulled out a calculator and showed the answer to be between 3.999999 and 4..000001.

The next person was a lawyer. He stated that in the case of Jenkins v. Commr of Stamp Duties (Qld), two and two was proven to be four.

The last applicant was an accountant The businessman asked him, "How much is two and two?" The accountant got up from his chair, went over to the door, closed it then came back and sat down. He leaned across the desk and said in a low voice, "How much do you want it to be?" He got the job.
