SEIZING OPPORTUNITIES BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE

His Eminence Sheikh Abdulbari ibn Awwad al-Thubaiti, may Allah preserve him, delivered the Friday Khutbah entitled, “Seizing Opportunities Before It Is Too Late”, in which he talked about the importance of seizing the various opportunities for righteous deeds that we have in life. He explained that Allah, Exalted be He, prompts us to do so and that our Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, gave excellent examples of seizing opportunities and making the most of them, in addition to teaching his Companions to do so.

I advise you and advise myself to fear Allah. Allah, Exalted be He, says:

"O You who Believe! Keep your duty to Allah and fear Him, and speak (always) the truth. He will direct you to do righteous good deeds and will forgive you your sins. And whosoever obeys Allah and His Messenger (Peace and blessings be upon him), he has indeed achieved a great achievement (i.e. he will be saved from the Hell-fire and will be admitted to Paradise)." (Al-Ahzab: 70-71)

Life is an opportunity in itself, and it is, in its turn, full of countless opportunities that are always open to man and that Allah makes available to His servants one after another. There are opportunities of all types and in every field. Some of them change the entire course of people’s lives, while others effect drastic changes for those who seize them and make the best of them. Some opportunities, however, never recur. One of the righteous predecessors once said, “If a door to goodness opens up before any of you, then hurry to go through, for you do not know when it may be closed against you.” read more

IRANIAN KEBAB

Ingredients
½ kilo chicken Fillet - 1 medium onion ½ cup lemon juice - 2 tblsp Olive oil - 1 tsp crushed garlic - 2 tsp ground green chillies - 1 ½ tsp crushed jeeru - 1 tsp crushed dhana - 1 tsp salt - ¼ tsp cinnamon - ¼ cup fresh parsley finely chopped - ¼ cup fresh dhania leaves finely chopped.

Method
Cut fillet into cubes. Process onion lemon juice olive oil garlic and pour into a bowl. Add spices parsley and coriander leaves to onion marinade. Combine marinade and fillet and leave overnight. Thread 2/3 pieces of chicken cubes onto a toothpick or on a long skewer. Cook on a non stick pan or barbecue until done.

FIRST DAY AT WORK

A young man hired by a supermarket reported for his first day of work. The manager greeted him with a warm handshake and a smile, gave him a broom and said, "Your first job will be to sweep out the store."

"But I'm a college graduate," the young man replied indignantly.

"Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't know that," said the manager.
"Here, give me the broom -- I'll show you how."
