THE MESSAGE |
THAT
WHICH HAS BEEN SENT TO ALLAH TA’ALA IS ETERNAL
By Mufti Mahmood Hasan Gangohi RA
Allah Ta’ala states in the Noble Qur’an: “That which is with you
will perish but that which is with Allah Ta’ala will remain.”
These two sentences are concise but comprehensive in their message.
Every Aayat of the Quran is comprehensive in its meaning. The gist
of life is contained in these sentences.
The world is a place of use and needs. Every action has its usage
and purpose, for e.g. we go to the shops to purchase our requirements.
If someone frequents the shops for recreation and amusement, this
will not be permissible as the shopping centers are Shaitaan’s dens
of vice. The market places are filled with enjoyments and pleasures,
enticing us towards worldly enjoyment. Sprawling shops and buildings
attract the eye creating a greater desire to obtain worldly pleasures.
Thus we enter the shopping centers, buy our requirements and return
home quickly.
This is the similitude of this world to the hereafter. The world
is like a shopping centre and the hereafter is our eternal home.
In the hereafter, we will be blessed with eternal happiness, eternal
youth, eternal strength and eternal enjoyments. We will not be afflicted
with sadness, death, hunger or even sorrow and Allah Ta’ala will
be pleased with us for ever and ever.
But, the hereafter has certain requirements. Just as food, clothing,
shelter etc, are the requirements of this world, purchased form
the bazaars, the requirements of the hereafter will be acquired
from the ‘worldly’ bazaar. Allah Ta'ala has sent man, to earth,
to obtain the necessities for the hereafter and not to amass the
things of the world. The possessions of this world will be left
behind. |

FIQH |
If
a small child who has been fed with milk vomits it out, then if it
is not a mouthful, it will not be impure, and if it is a mouthful,
it will be impure. Hence, if the mother performs her Salaah without
washing out that vomit from her clothing, her Salaah will not be in
order.

THE SMILE |
FIRST
DAY AT WORK
A young man hired by a supermarket reported for his first day of
work. The manager greeted him with a warm handshake and a smile,
gave him a broom and said, "Your first job will be to sweep
out the store."
"But I'm a college graduate," the young man replied indignantly.
"Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't know that," said the manager.
"Here, give me the broom -- I'll show you how."
