THE DEER AND THE HUNTER

The Deer was once drinking from a pool and admiring the noble figure he made there. ‘Ah,’ said he, ‘where can you see such noble horns as these, with such antlers! I wish I had legs more worthy to bear such a noble crown; it is a pity they are so slim and slight.’ At that moment a Hunter approached and sent an arrow whistling after him. Away bounded the Deer, and soon, by the aid of his nimble legs, was nearly out of sight of the Hunter; but not noticing where he was going, he passed under some trees with branches growing low down in which his antlers were caught, so that the Hunter had time to come up. ‘Alas! alas!’ cried the Deer:

‘We often despise what is most useful to us.’

Commentary: That meant to set aside a day for some special devotion. Mini steak filled roties

Ingredients:

2 cups cake flour
1 tsp salt
60g butter
hot water to make dough

Method:

Sift flour and salt. Rub butter into flour until it resembles bread crumbs. Make a well in the center of flour and pour in hot water gradually. Mix to form soft dough. Reset dough for ½ hour. Make small balls in palm of your hand. Roll out on floured surface and fry in heated pan with butter. Fill with masala steak, or chicken and pin with tooth picks.

BUSINESS STRATEGY

When my printer's type began to grow faint, I called a local repair shop where a friendly man informed me that the printer probably needed only to be cleaned. Because the store charged $50 for such cleanings, he told me, I might be better off reading the printer's manual and trying the job myself. Pleasantly surprised by his candor, I asked, "Does your boss know that you discourage business?"

"Actually it's my boss's idea," the employee replied sheepishly. "We usually make more money on repairs if we let people try to fix things themselves first."
