UDHIYAH (QURBANI) - THE SUNNAH OF IBRAHIM AS By Shaykh Mawlana Muhammad Saleem Dhorat Hafizahullah During the months following Ramadan, Muslims the world over remember the life of the great Prophet, the Friend of Allah (Subhaanahu Wa Ta'ala), Ibrahim AS; a life full of sacrifice and submission to the will of Allah (Subhaanahu Wa Ta'ala). At a very young age, when in need of the support of his father, Ibrahim AS was compelled to leave him. Then, during the final stages of his life, when in his old age and in need of the support of his young son, he was commanded by Allah (Subhaanahu Wa Ta'ala) to sacrifice him. Without hesitation, he was ready to submit to the Will of his Creator. Allah (Subhaanahu Wa Ta'ala) says: And when (his son) reached an age in which he was able to walk with him, he said: “O my dear son, I have seen in a dream that I am slaughtering you, so see what is your view.” He said: “O my father! Do what you are commanded. Allah willing, you will find me of the patient ones.” So when they had both submitted (to Allah’s Will), and he laid him down on his forehead, We called out to him: “O Ibrahim! You have indeed fulfilled the vision.” Surely, thus do we reward the doers of good. This was a clear trial. (37:102-106) Allah (Subhaanahu Wa Ta'ala) granted this action of Ibrahim AS so much acceptance that He made the Udhiyah (qurbani/sacrifice) a symbol of this great act. When asked by the Sahabah RA what Udhiyah is, Rasūlullah s replied: "It is the Sunnah of your father Ibrahim AS." (Ahmad, Ibn Majah) read more |

Every day he makes the intention of leaving the following day or the next day, but does not leave. In this way, he stays at that place for fifteen days, twenty days, a month or even more than that. steak sandwiches Ingredients ½ kg minute steak cut into strips cook in: 1 tblsp ghee 1 tsp salt 1tsp ginger garlic masala ½ tsp dhania powder ½ tsp jeera powder ½ tsp crushed red chillies. cook for about 10 to 15 minutes until steak are abit soft. dice 1 onion and 1 green pepper and add to steak. add 1 tblsp of worcester sauce and 1 tblsp black vinegar. add to steak and cook until all the water is burnt out and steaks are done. remove from heat and add 2 large curry spoons of steers peri peri sauce and 2 large curry spoons of tomatoe sauce. also add 3 large curry spoons of crystal sauce. mix well. then; make thin chips with about 3 or 4 potatoes, fry chips and add to steak. make sandwiches with staeak and chips and toast. enjoy. NB: any sauces of your choice can be used for this recipe.lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers and cheese can also be added to your sandwiches. |
