TAKE ADVANTAGE OF YOUR LIFE TO DO ACTS OF OBEDIENCE TO ALLAH By Sheikh Ali ibn Abdur-Rahman Al-Hudhaifi - 24 Rajab 1435 His Eminence Sheikh Ali ibn Abdur-Rahman Al-Hudhaifi, may Allah preserve him, delivered the Friday Khutbah entitled, “Take Advantage of Your Life to Do Acts of Obedience to Allah”, in which he said that it is every Muslim’s duty to make the most of his life by doing good deeds and keeping away from forbidden acts. He cited a lot of evidence to this effect from the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Messenger, peace and blessings be upon him, emphasizing the importance of paying special attention to the Ummah’s youth by encouraging them to do good deeds and dissuading them form distractions and anything that is harmful to their religion and worldly life. Your Lord, Might and Majesty be to Him, has made this worldly life an abode for doing deeds, where each one has an appointed term, and He has made the hereafter an abode for judgment for what we did on earth, with reward for the good deeds and punishment for the evil deeds. Allah, Exalted be He, says: "And to Allah belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth, that He may requite those who do evil with that which they have done (i.e. punish them in Hell), and reward those who do good, with what is best (i.e. Paradise)." (An-Najm: 31) Allah, Exalted be He, also says: |

up this morning with a smile on my face It’s the end of a week-long race It passed by at a steady pace and the weekend I did chase I feel revived more so because Jummah has arrived The most beautiful day of the week in sickness or health, Jummah makes me feel like I have incredible wealth Oh how I waited for this day to stand tall and pray shoulder to shoulder, brother to brother like there is no other Thank Allah for making me part of this Ummah Oh what a wonderful feeling when we are in front of you (Allah) kneeling before you These are just a few reasons why I woke up with a smile today and each and every week I say Thanks Allah its Friday ~ Submitted by ash13gp ~ |

| Spinach
and cheese gozlame • 1 sachet instant dried yeast • 1 medium boiled potato mashed • ¾ tsp salt • 1 teaspoon honey/sugar • 4 cups plain flour • 2 t ghee • 200g spinach shredded200g feta cheese, crumbled Method: Combine 1 cup warm water, yeast, and sugar or honey in a jug. stir with a fork. cover. stand in a warm, sunny place for 5 minutes or until bubbles form on the surface. sift flour and salt into a large bowl. add yeast mixture, ghee and mashed potato. mix to form a soft dough.by using sufficient extra warm water. turn dough onto a lightly floured surface. knead for 5 minutes or until elastic. stand in a warm, sunny place for 20 minutes or until dough doubles in size. make 10 balls out of the dough after punching down, and roll out into a thin eating plate size roti .place spinach over half of each roti. top with feta or grated cheese and season with salt and pepper. cut a green chilli if you want it abit strong. fold dough over to enclose filling. press edges together to seal. put on a hot tawa and brush melted ghee on both sides of each gozleme.cook for 2 to 3 minutes or until base is golden.turn over and cook for 2 to 3 minutes or until golden and crisp. remove to a serving plate. cut gozleme into quarters. serve with lemon wedges. |
