HABIB IBN ZAYD AL-ANSARI RA He grew up in a home filled with the fragrance of Iman, and in a family where everyone was imbued with the spirit of sacrifice. Habib's father, Zayd ibn Asim RA, was one of the first persons in Yathrib to accept Islam and his mother, the celebrated Nusaybah bint Kab RA known as Umm Ammarah, was the first woman to bear arms in defence of Islam and in support of the blessed Prophet Sallallahu Alyhi Wa Sallam. Habib, still at a tender age, was privileged to go with his mother, father, maternal aunt and brother to Makkah with the pioneering group of seventy five who pledged fealty to the Prophet Sallallahu Alyhi Wa Sallam at Aqabah and played a decisive role in shaping the early history of Islam. At Aqabah, in the darkness of the night, the young Habib stretched out his small hand and pledged loyalty to the Prophet Sallallahu Alyhi Wa Sallam. From that day, the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah on him, became dearer to Habib than his own mother or father and Islam became more important to him than any care for his personal safety. read more |

sesame bites Ingredients 500g chicken fillet cut into small pieces green chilleis to taste 1 tsp crushed garlic 1 tsp salt or to taste ½ cup lemon juice 1 tsp ground jeero 1 tsp chicken spice 2 tblsp mayyonnaise 2 beaten eggs 1 cup sesame seeds 1 cup crushed crackers – you could use crushed cream crackers or salticrax Method Marinate cut up chicken fillets with chillies, garlic, salt, lemon. juice jeero, chicken spice and mayyonnaise. mix well. Refridgerate for a few hours or overnight. Combine sesame seeds and crackers together in a bowl. Dip fillets in the beaten egg then roll in the mixed sesame seed and till mixture. It is now freezer suitable. |
