A WARNING AGAINST HEEDLESSNESS

His Eminence Sheikh Salah Al-Budair, may Allah preserve him, delivered the Friday Khutbah entitled, “A Warning against Heedlessness”, in which he talked about the dangers of heedlessness of acts of obedience to Allah and indulgence in pleasures. He also warned against the conduct of those who are given to heedlessness, since such conduct results in great loss in this life and in the hereafter.

Praise be to Allah, the Bestower of blessings and favours,
And the One Who has created hearing, sight, and speech.
Whoever gives thanks to Allah will receive more favours.
As for the ungrateful, let them remember that many a blessing has turned into a curse.

O Muslims!
People with high determination, proud souls, and pure hearts, whom Allah has endowed with good nature and great insight, are always wary of the breeding grounds for heedlessness and seek Allah’s protection from it.

Ar-Raghib Al-Asfahani said, “Heedlessness is a kind of forgetfulness which comes over man on account of his lack of vigilance and alertness.” It has also been said that “heedlessness means responding to whatever desires one’s lower self craves for” and that “heedlessness means deserting the mosque and obeying the corrupt.” Heedlessness has also been described as “wasting one’s time in idleness.” read more

2 punnets mushrooms (finely cubed)

Steam mushrooms with salt and pepper and butter, when cool mix with kiri cheese. Make small balls with the Kiri cheese and mushrooms. Thereafter take kebab mixture and pat around the Kiri cheese and mushroom balls, to form a ball around the kiri cheese. So basically the kiri cheese will be in the centre of the kebab. Dip in egg and breadcrumbs and fry.

A WILD ANIMAL

My little girl loves animals, but one day she was bitten by a small field mouse she'd found. She carried it home in her pocket and told me what happened. Worried about rabies, I called our town Humane Society and was told that the animal would have to be examined, and they'd send someone for it.

When the Humane Society truck pulled up, a big man got out, put on a pair of gauntlets, and took a capture stick and cage from the back of the truck. Trying not to laugh, I handed him a shoe box containing the mouse.

"Lady," he said, seeing my expression, "they only told me it was a wild animal."
