One day a husband and wife were going back to their village after meeting their relatives who lived in another village. There was a river between the villages which they had to cross if the needed to travel to the other village. So when the couple got into their boat to cross the river, when they were halfway into the river, a big storm arose. The husband was courageous and brave, but the situation there was hopeless. They could just do nothing to save their lives. He did not fear the storm, but his wife was afraid and started trembling with fear. There was no sign of fear or amazement on Husband’s face. He didn’t utter a word and just sat there calm and quiet as if nothing was happening. On seeing her husband sitting quietly, she said, “We are about to die. Are you not afraid of this storm? Aayeshah Radiyallahu Anha reports: "Rasulullah Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam kissed the forehead of Uthmaan bin Maz'oon after his death. At that time tears were flowing from his eyes". (TIRMIZI) Commentary: This great Sahaabi was a foster brother of Sayyidina Rasulullah Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam. He was the thirteenth person to accept Islaam in its early stages. He first migrated to Abyssynia then to Madinah. He was very pious and devoted. At the time when it was still lawful to drink intoxicants, he had already abstained from imbibing it, He was the first among the Muhaajireen to pass away. He passed away in Sha'baan in the second year Hijri and was buried in the Jannatul Baqi. |

kos recipe 1 kg chicken fillet cubed 2 red, 2 green and 2 yellow peppers cubed 4 tomatoes cubed 3 onions cubed 4 tblsp Tomatoe sauce 4 tblsp Garlic sauce 4 tblsp Jalapeno sauce 4 tblps Mrs Ball fruit chutney ¼ cup lemon juice 4 oz butter 1 tblsp mustard seeds 1 tblsp ginger garlic paste 1 tblsp green chillies 2 tblsp honey Method: Marinate chicken with all the ingredients except butter, overnight or for a few hours Before cooking add in butter.
