Commentary: This Hadith spotlights in a wise fashion the significance and perception of spending in the way of Allah. The real wealth of man is that which he spends in His way and the channels He approves. Only this wealth will stand him in good stead on the Day of Resurrection. Otherwise, what apart from it, will be personally used up by him in the worldly life, and what he leaves behind will fall to the lot of his heirs. It implies that if Allah has bestowed worldly riches upon a man, he should spend them to the maximum in the way to Allah.

4 cups flour
1 pkt 10g instant yeast
1 cup yoghurt (room temp)
1 egg
2 tblsp ghee
1 tsp salt
2 tblsp sugar
Lukewarm milk to make dough

Beat egg and yoghurt together.Sift flour, salt and sugar, rub in ghee and add rest of ingredients and make soft dough. Leave to rise. Roll out thick, brush ghee and sprinkle with tal. Bake till done. Rognie naan can be grilled on tawa.

VET APPOINTMENT

In his younger days our golden retriever, Catcher, often ran away when he had the chance. His veterinarian's office was about a mile down the road and Catcher would usually go there. The office staff knew him and would call me to come pick him up.

One day I called the vet to make an appointment for Catcher's yearly vaccine.

"Will you be bringing him in yourself," asked the receptionist, "or will he come on his own?"
