Last Thursday, July 11, 18 years after Europe’s worst atrocity since the Second World War, Bosnia reburied another 409 victims of the Srebrenica massacre. Scraps of their bodies from mass graves are continually being identified via DNA analyses.

The Srebrenica massacre refers to the July 1995 systematic massacre of more than 8000 Bosnian Muslims in the town of Srebrenica in Bosnia and Herzegovina during the Bosnia War. The Bosnia war was an international armed conflict that took place in Bosnia and Herzegovina between 1 March 1992 and 14 December 1995. Bosnian Serb forces killed some 8000 Muslim men and boys in five summer days in 1995, towards the end of a war that erupted in 1992 with the collapse of federal Yugoslavia. It claimed more than 100 000 lives. Estimates of the total number of women coordinately raped as a weapon of war range from 20,000 to 50,000. read more

Method
Lay all spinach leaves flat. Brush with egg mixture. Place 1 tblsp or more of chicken filling on each leaf, depending on the size of the leaf. Roll each leaf closed like a spring roll, making sure all the sides are closed. At the end pierce it close with a clove. Place all spinach rolls in a pot and steam on low for 15 to 20 minutes until the colour of the leaves change. Lightly brush both sides with olive oil and fry for just a minute on each side. Serve hot with puri and chutney.

SMART BIRD

My high-school basketball team was scheduled to play in the district tournament, and when we got there we were all excited to find our pictures and our stats published in the glossy program. My friend Brian Bird, a senior who was having a great season, eagerly searched for his name. But then he threw the program down in disgust, and I figured that there must be some error in his entry.

Sure enough, his name appeared as "Bird, Brain."
