Sheikh Saleh Bin Muhammad Aal-Talib - 26 Shabaan 1434

His Eminence Sheikh Saleh Bin Muhammad Aal-Talib ?may Allah protect him? delivered this Khutbah entitled “Ramadan and the Conditions of the Muslim Ummah”. He spoke about the month of Ramadan and about its merits and wisdom. He motivated people to compete in worshipping Allah (?) especially during Ramadan. He did not miss the opportunity to talk about the conditions of Muslims all over the world, stressing the necessity to keep sight of the needy through offering charity.

Praise be to Allah! Praise be to Allah, Who has privileged certain days and months over others and made Ramada the month of the greatest forms of worship and the source of the most generous rewards. I praise my Lord (?) and thank Him. I repent to Him and ask for His forgiveness. He is the Merciful, the Pardoner, the Forgiver, the Generous, the Munificent, and the Grateful. I bear witness that there is no deity worthy of worship save Allah alone without associate; a testimony whereby I seek salvation on Resurrection Day. I equally bear witness that Muhammad (Sallallahu Alayhi Wa Sallam) is Allah’s Servant and Messenger and the best creature ever. May Allah send His Salat (Graces, Honours, and Mercy) and Peace onto him, his family, his Companions, and his Ummah as long as crescents are born in the sky and mid-month full moons come into view by night time.

Now then, fear Allah and hold fast to the non-severable bond of Islam. Hold yourselves accountable before the Day of Accountability and make your own šahîfa (Deed Record) clear of sins before it is tagged around your neck (on Doomsday), and also before your body organs and locations you once frequented in the herein serve as witnesses for what you perpetrated. There are certainly angel-scribes taking record of all your deeds, and Allah (?) is the promptest in exacting His creatures’ accountability: "And be afraid of the Day when you shall be brought back to Allâh. Then every person shall be paid what he earned, and they shall not be dealt with unjustly." [Al-Baoara: 281] read more

Radio Islam’s Presenter Shk Samih Jad Al Khattary gave a brief analysis on the current crises in Egypt. Shk Samih is a member of Egypt’s Freedom and Justice Party (FJP) or ?izb Al-?urriya Wal 'Adala.

Taking us back to the Revolution of 2011, Shk Samih described what was a diverse movement of demonstrations and strikes from millions of protesters from a variety of socio-economic and religious backgrounds who demanded the step-down of President Hosni Mubarak. Grievances of Egyptians were focused on social and political issues including police brutality, lack of free elections and freedom of speech, corruption, etc. On 2 June 2012, Mubarak was found guilty of complicity in the murders of the protestors and sentenced to life imprisonment, but this sentence was later overturned on appeal. On 30 June, Mohammed Morsi became Egypt's first freely elected president voted by the people of Egypt.

Ever since, as Shk Samih explained, the Military conspired with secular Opposition parties and incited the masses against President Morsi, being responsible for over 6000 anti-Morsi demonstrations just in the first year of presidency. On 3 July 2013 President Morsi was deposed in a military coup, a strange and stupefying occurrence for a Military to enter the political arena to remove a democratically elected president. 2 kg cubed steak
Olive Oil – for cooking
salt & pepper – to taste
2 tsp ginger garlic
4 tblsp vinegar (add more if your steak does not get tender enough)
3 tsp barbeque spice
3 tsp steak & chops spice
2-3 tsp of chopped fresh green chilli
1 tsp nutmeg
1 tsp mustard powder
2 tsp dhana jeero
½ tsp turmeric
1 sachet tomato paste – about 2 tblsp
½ cup chopped coriander/dhania
splash of Worcestershire sauce

Cook the above until the steak is soft and tender. If it gets too dry, add a little water and cook further. Switch off and let it cool before using. If you want your steak more moist, once it’s done add two tablespoons of Cross&Blackwell Chilli Sauce, 1 tablespoon of mustard sauce and 1 tablespoon barbeque sauce. For a large steak pie, add piccalilli to your steak filling, it’s delicious!
