There was a farmer who grew superior quality, award-winning corn in his farm. Each year, he entered his corn in the state fair where it won honours & prizes.
One year a newspaper reporter interviewed him and learned something interesting about how he grew his corn. The reporter discovered that the farmer shared his seed corn with his neighbours.
“How can you afford to share your best seed corn with your neighbours when they are entering corn in competition with yours each year?” The reporter asked. “Why brother?”
The farmer replied, “Don’t you know? The wind picks up pollen grains from the ripening corn and swirls it from field to field. If my neighbours grow inferior, sub-standard & poor quality corn, cross-pollination will steadily degrade the quality of my corn. If I have to grow good corn, I must help my neighbours to grow good corns.”
The farmer gave a superb insight into the inter-dependency in life. His corn cannot improve unless his neighbours’ corn also improves.
So it is in the other dimensions and areas of life!
Those who choose to be in harmony must help their neighbours and colleagues to be at peace. Those who choose to live well must help others live well. The value of a life is measured by the lives it touches… Success does not happen in isolation; it is most often a participatory and collective process. So share the good practices, ideas and new knowledge with your family, friends, team members and neighbours & all.
Anas Radiyallahu 'Anhu reports: "Rasulullah Sallallahu 'Alayhi Wasallam performed six Rak'ahs of the Salaatut Duha". [TIRMIZI]
Commentary: Due to different times, different number of Rak'ahs have been narrated regarding the Salaatut Duha of Sayyidina Rasulullah Sallallahu 'Alayhi Wasallam. Therefore there will be no contradiction between them. For this reason the Ulama have written that at least two Rak'ahs, and it is best that eight or twelve Rak'ahs be performed. It has been narrated that Sayyidina Rasulullah Sallallahu 'Alahi Wasallam usually performed eight Rak'ahs.

1 cup ground almonds
1 cup castor sugar
1 tsp ground pistachios
1 tsp ground cardamom
2 Tbsp condensed milk
Phyllo
pastry
Melted butter
Icing sugar
Ground pistachio nuts
Combine almonds, sugar, pistachios, condensed milk and cardamon. Cut each phyllo sheet into 4 rectangles.Cover remaining phyllo with a damp cloth. Brush phyllo with melted butter and place 1 teaspoon of pistachio and almond mixture in the centre. Fold in sides and roll into a thin cigar shape. Brush cigars with melted butter and bake at 180* until light gold. Dust with icing sugar and sprinkle ground pistachio nuts when cool.

Getting Old Could Be Worse
At a nursing home in Florida, a group of senior citizens were sitting around talking about their aches and pains.
"My arms are so weak I can hardly lift this cup of coffee," said one.
"I know what you mean. My cataracts are so bad I can't even see my coffee," replied another.
"I can't turn my head because of the arthritis in my neck," said a third, to which several nodded weakly in agreement.
"My blood pressure pills make me dizzy," another contributed.
"I guess that's the price we pay for getting old," winced an old man as he slowly shook his head.
Then there was a short moment of silence.
"Well, it's not that bad," said one woman cheerfully. "Thank God we can all still drive."
