HAJJ

Q: How much wealth does a person need to have in order for Hajj to be compulsory?
A: A person needs to have sufficient wealth which will cover his transport, accommodation and food expenses during the journey of Hajj (i.e. from the time he leaves till he returns) in order for Hajj to be compulsory.

Q: If a person does not have the full amount to do his Hajj, is he obligated to sell his basic necessities in order to perform Hajj?
A: One is not required to sell his basic necessities in order to perform Hajj.

N.B: Hajj is fardh upon one who possesses sufficient wealth which will cover his transport, accommodation and food expenses during the journey of Hajj (i.e. from the time he leaves till he returns) apart from his basic necessities (e.g house, car, furniture, clothing etc.) and the wealth he leaves behind for maintaining his dependants in his absence.

Q: If a woman has the means to perform Hajj but does not have a mahram to accompany her, will Hajj be compulsory upon her?
A: It will not be compulsory upon her to go for Hajj. She should perform her Hajj when she has a mahram. However it is necessary for her to make a bequest that if she passes away without performing Hajj then Hajj-e-badl should be done on her behalf from one-third of her wealth.

Q: A person owns many acres of land which is his only source of income. However if he sells some portion of the land or all of it then he will have sufficient wealth to perform Hajj. Is Hajj compulsory upon him?
A: If he is able to sell that amount of land which will suffice for his Hajj expenses and retain sufficient land for his livelihood then Hajj will be fardh upon him.

1 tin evaporated milk
1 tblsp coffee
1 cup cream
2 eggs - beaten
1 tblsp almonds - finely ground
1 cup fine sugar

Method :
- Chill evaporated milk
