QURBAANI

Q: Upon whom is Qurbani waajib?

A: Qurbani is waajib upon the one who possesses the nisaab amount (of zakaat) during the days of qurbaani.

Q: Is it permissible to make Qurbani before the Eid Salaah?

A: It is not permissible to make Qurbani before the Eid Salaah in the city. However, in the villages or farms (where Eid salaah does not take place) it is permissible after subah saadiq.

Q: Is it permissible to make Qurbani during the night?

A: If the Qurbani is carried out in a place which is well lit and there is no fear of erring, the Qurbani will be permissible.

Q: What should be done with the Qurbani meat?

A: The Qurbani meat can be consumed by oneself, family, friends, etc. It is preferable to give one third of the meat in charity.

Q: What should be done with the skin of the Qurbani animal?

A: One can use the skin of the Qurbani animal for one’s personal needs. Similarly gifting it or giving it in charity is permissible.

Q: Is it permissible to sell the skin?

A: It is permissible and the money should be given in sadaqah.

Health Loaf

Ingredients
3 cups nutty wheat
½ tsp salt
1 tsp bi carb of soda
1 cup bran
3 ½ tsp brown sugar
500g buttermilk
¼ cup raisins

Method
Mix all ingredients together
Pour into a greased 23cm loaf pan
Bake at 180 for 45 mins

* If you have an expensive ball-point pen, or even an inexpensive one that stops writing even though there is still ink in it, Dip the pen in very hot water for a minute or so. This will get The ink flowing again.

* For those of you who have kids who love ice cream cones, but hate the messy dripping that comes out of the bottom when they eat them; stuff a big marshmallow in the bottom before filling with ice cream. This will prevent the soggy bottom and give the "Little darlin's" an extra treat at the end.

* The best oil stain remover for clothing is baby powder or cornstarch. Just sprinkle, rub in the spot, let set an hour and toss in the wash. Works every time.
