TEN SIGNS OF INTELLIGENCE

1. One who does not posess pride.

2. One who walks on the path of guidance firm and is steadfast.

3. One who is content with whatever Allah Ta'aala has provided him/her with.

4. One who is not miserly in spending in the way of Allah Ta'aala of whatever excess he/she has been provided be it money, food, clothes or any other property.

5. In place of worldly ranks, status or fame, he/she likes and prefers humbleness.

6. One who prefers being Faqeer and Miskeen, that is humble one rather than being a honored and respectful one. Nabi Sallallahu alaihi Wa Sallam used to pray, ‘Oh Allah let me die among the miskeen.’ Miskeen means prefering a humble life without being greedy for name and fame.

7. One who prefers being a student of knowledge throughout one's life and doesn’t feel bad or lower in obtaining knowledge. If he/she doesn’t know anything, he/she asks and thinks that as prosperity.

8. When someone seeks good counsel or knowledge from him/her, he/she doesn’t feel tight.

9. One who considers others good deeds, even a small one as something very big and considers his/her own deeds even in large numbers as very very negligible.

10. People are considered to be of two kinds in this world: A) Good and superior ones and B) Evil and wretched ones. Whenever he/she sees the superior one, his heart breaks and he gets a strong yearning and desire that he was like him and becomes righteous like him and whenever he sees a wretched one, he thinks that maybe the one whom he considers bad may have some goodness in him that will overcome all his evil and he will surpass him and get salvation while he might sink in the darkness. In this way, he never looks down at any one.

When all these qualities are obtained in a person, his/her intelligence is complete through which he/she obtains high status in both the worlds and becomes a leader of his/her time. He/She becomes a person of Allah Ta'aala looking forward for his mercy and Jannah.

MADERIA CAKE

Ingredients
125 g Margarine - 250ml Castor Sugar - 2 eggs - 5ml Vanill - 500ml cake flour - 10ml baking powder - 250ml milk - Grated rind of 1 lemon.

Method
Cream margarine and sugar till light and fluffily. Beat the eggs in one at a time. Add lemon rind and vanilla. Sift flour/ baking powder together and add to mixture alternatively with milk. Pour into well-greased 23cm loaf tin. Bake at 180 c for 1 hour.
