Good men are indeed all around us. We pass them on the streets,in the malls and the halls at work. Most we can't see because we don't know what a good man really looks like. He usually isn't flashy enough or rich enough to turn our heads. He might not wear a suit or push a BMW. He might not have a handsome face or a strong body But, as you mature, you realize it's better to find someone who's got your back than someone who turns your head. A good man doesn't agree whole heartedly with everything you say. He doesn't just tell you what you want to hear and do the opposite. He has his own opinions and you may clash, but he doesn't have to degrade you to prove he's right. He even admits at times to being wrong, especially if you are willing to do the same.
A good man is not going to meet every item on your checklist. He is human with frailties and faults mixed in with all of his wonderful,strong attributes. He needs your love and respect. He needs to feel that you don't live to "catch" him doing something wrong so you can declare,"Aha! I knew you were a dog!!" A good man doesn't necessarily give you huge gifts. He shows his love in the ways that are comfortable to him. Don't judge him according to “The perfect couple”. No one lives that fairy tale for real. You'll miss out on your own fairy tale by buying into the myth that our men are no good. It's just not true...

WORDS WRITTEN BY AN OBSERVANT CHILD...
Mum and Dad were watching sitting in the lounge when Mum said, "I'm tired, and it's getting late. I think I'll go to bed." She went to the kitchen to make sandwiches for the next day's lunches. Rinsed out the popcorn bowls, took meat out of the freezer for supper the following evening, checked the cereal box levels, filled the sugar container, put spoons and bowls on the table and started the coffee pot for brewing the next morning. She then put some wet clothes in the dryer, put a load of clothes into the washer, ironed a shirt and secured a loose button. She picked up the game pieces left on the table, put the phone back on the charger and put the telephone book into the drawer. She yawned and stretched and headed for the bedroom. She stopped by the desk and wrote a note to the teacher, counted out some cash for the excursion and pulled a text book out from hiding under the chair. She signed a card for a friend, addressed and stamped the envelope and wrote a quick note for the grocery store. She put both near her bag. Mum then washed her face with 3 in 1 cleanser, put on her Night Solution & age fighting moisturizer, brushed and flossed her teeth.
Dad called out, "I thought you were going to bed." "I'm on my way," she said. She put some water into the dog's dish and put the cat outside, then made sure the doors were locked and the patio light was on.. She looked in on each of the kids and turned out their bedside lamps and radios, hung up a shirt, threw some dirty socks into the hamper, and had a brief conversation with the one up still doing homework. In her own room, she set the alarm; laid out clothing for the next day, straightened up the shoe rack. She added three things to her 6 most important things to do list. Shemade her Duas, and visualized the accomplishment of her goals. About that time, Dad put down the paper and announced to no one in particular. "I'm going to bed." And he did so...without another thought. Anything extraordinary here?

Pecan Nut Biscuits
a) Roughly grind 1 cup pecans to small chopped pieces. Keep them chunky, not totally ground as the final texture of the biscuit's lovely with rough pecan pieces!
b) Sift 2 cups flour and toss your pecans into it.
In another bowl:
c) Using an electric beater, cream: 1 cup softened butter + 1/2 cup sugar with 1 tsp vanilla essence until light and fluffy.
Add the flour+pecan mix to the fluffed mixture and combine well.
Take a Tbls measure of dough and shaped them into crescents and stars of sorts. They are thick and chunky biscuits and are great with a cuppa tea for dunking. Not those fancy-looking biscuits with overkill of pretty decorations, but no taste!
I got out of this recipe about 4 dz biscuits, with 1 Tbls measurements per biscuit. Not bad...
Bake: 325F (about 160C), for 22 minutes (I kept it in on-guard for 25 minutes in total). Cool on wire racks briefly and toss in castor sugar
