PILGRIMAGE (HAJJ) AND VISITING THE GRAVE OF NABI SALLALLAHU ALAIHI WA SALLAM
All praise be to Allah who has made the sacred house (The Kabah) a place of refuge and peace for mankind. He has honoured it by relating it to Himself by enobling (its sanctuary). Protecting (its structure so that it be a reminder of its purpose) and all this is done through his grace (for mankind). I testify that there is no deity besides Allah alone who has no partner. I testify that Nabi Sallallahu alaihi Wa Sallam, His servant and His prophet is the messenger of mercy and the leader of the Ummah.
May Allah’s peace, salutations and blessings be upon him, his family and his companions who were the leaders of guiding towards the truth and were the sovereigns of the creation.
Allah Ta’aala has mentioned regarding pilgrimage: “And it is a duty unto people to go for pilgrimage to the Kabah, for those having the means towards it, solely for Allah Ta’aala."
Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam has said: “Any person who has not been restrained from pilgrimage through a manifest necessity, a despotic ruler or an illness preventing through a manifest necessity, a despotic ruler or an illness preventing him and then has to die without performing pilgrimage, then let him die if he chooses as a jew and if he wishes as a Christian. (Daarimi)
Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam has said: “He who performs pilgrimage without committing any obscenity, nor any sin, will return (free from sin) like the day his mother gave birth to him." (Bukhaari, Muslim)
Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam performed four Umrahs (minor pilgrimage) and all these were done in the month of Thul Qadah besides one which was performed with Hajj.
Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam has said: “Follow Hajj and Umrah by each other for they repudiate poverty and sins." (Bukhaari, Muslim)
Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam has said: “My intercession is incumbent for the person who visits my grave and I am informing you of an important matter that concerns you."
This implies that we cannot doubt the blessings, nor say anything irrelevant of the month of Thul Qadah, which follows the month of Shawwal. This is because it is amidst the months of Hajj and because it was the period in which the Umar (places of Umrah-minor pilgrimage) of Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam was done.
I seek refuge with Allah from Shaytaan, the accursed
“And pronounce for the (benefit of) people, the (obligation) of Hajj. Men would come to you, even on every lean camel and they would even come from every deep valley."
(Khutbaatul Ahkaam Pg 104/5)

Walnut Cinnamon Pie
Ingredients
For the Crust - 2.5 cups self raising flour - 2 Tblsp sugar - ½
tsp salt - ¾ tsp ground cinnamon powder - 1 cup (2 sticks) cold
butter cut into pieces - 4 to 6 tblsp ice water - For the Filling - 10
cups sliced apples - 1 tblsp fresh lemon juice - ½ cup sugar -
3 tblsp quick cooking tapioca (sago) - 1 ½ tsp ground cinnamon
- ½ tsp ground nutmeg - ½ cup coarsely chopped toasted walnuts
- 1.4 cup chopped crystallized ginger or heaped tsp ground ginger - 2
tblsp butter cut into pieces - Milk and sugar.
Method
Crust:
* Combine flour sugar salt and cinnamon in food processor.
* Add butter process until mixture looks like breadcrumbs.
* With the machine running add water, 1 tblsp at a time.
* Process until dough holds together.
* Shape dough into two flat discs wrap in plastic and refrigerate
for 1-hour overnight.
Filling:
* Toss apples with lemon juice in a large bowl.
* Combine sugar sago cinnamon and nutmeg & sprinkle over Apples
with walnuts and ginger, toss until all are well coated.
* Preheat oven to 425 degrees and then roll half of the dough on
a lightly floured surface to make a 13-inch circle. Line a 9-inch pie
plate and trim off any excess.
* Arrange apple mixture in pie plate and dot with butter.
* Roll remaining dough to 12-inch circle and cover pie.
* Seal all edges and brush crust lightly with milk.
* Decorate the top of the pie with leaf cutouts.
* Sprinkle entire pie lightly with sugar.
* Bake for 15 minutes then reduce oven to 350degrees. Bake until golden
brown and filling is bubbling about 40 minutes
* "My husband loves chicken but will most often refuse to eat it if it has a string poultry smell." This may sound strange but is a very real problem for some people. To get rid of a strong poultry smell from chicken, put the chicken into a large non-metallic pot or bowl. Pour 1/2 a cup of white vinegar over the chicken and mix well to coat all the chicken. Leave aside for 4-5 minutes. Now wash the chicken thoroughly under running water and use as required. The chicken will no longer have a strong poultry smell!
* Tomato-based curries or curries containing spices like turmeric can badly stain plastic containers. This is quite disheartening if you have invested in good (and often expensive) plastic containers for your kitchen. Avoid this problem by pre-spraying your containers with nonstick cooking spray before you store curries in them. No more yellow containers!

occasions, which never ever happen!
* You fight over who pays the dinner bill but inside you know you don't
mind the other person paying!
* When your parents meet strangers and talk for a few minutes, you discover
they're talking to distant cousins!
* You have bed- sheets over your sofa's to keep them clean!
* Its embarrassing when your wedding has less than 700 people!
* You make jokes with the shopkeeper hoping for a discount!
* All your Tupperwares are stained with food colour! (See cooking tip
above)
