THE MERITS AND COMPULSION OF KNOWLEDGE
All praise be to Allah Ta'aala, the noblest who created man and elevated him, and has taught him speech which he knew not. Glory be to Him whose bounties are innumerable, neither can they be counted by the tongue nor by the pen. We bear witness that there is no God besides Allah. He has no partner and we bear witness that our leader and master, Muhammed Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam is His servant and prophet who has been given the attributes of comprehensive speech, distinguishing wisdom and excellent character. May Allah send blessings on Nabi Sallallahu alaihi Wa Sallam, on His family and His companions, the stars of guidance for the Ummah. Indeed knowledge of Islamic Law and Jurisprudence is the most major of Islamic obligations. (We are thus commanded to learn and teach it.)
Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam said: "Convey from me even though it be a verse." (Bukhaari)
Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam said: "Whoever treads a path in search of knowledge, Allah will thereby make his way to Jannah easy." (Muslim)
Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam said: "Whoever Allah favours with His mercy, He gives him the understanding of Deen (Religion). (Bukhaari, Muslim)
Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam said: "Indeed the Ulema (Islamic scholars) are the inheretors of the prophets (Peace be upon them), and the prophets did not leave wealth to be inherited, but they left knowledge to be inherited, so whoever takes from it, he has taken a great share. (Ahmed, Tirmizi, Abu Dawud, Ibn Majah, Daarimi)
Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam said: "To seek knowledge is compulsory on every Muslim." (Ibn Majah)
Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam said: "If a person bestowed with knowledge is asked about it, and refrains from answering it, on the Day of Qiyaamat he will be made to wear a garland of fire. (Ahmed, Abu Dawud, Tirmizi)
Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam said: "Whoever Allah Ta'aala has given the opportunity to seek such knowledge, that is used to remember Allah Ta'aala, if he misuses it seeking the pleasures of this world, such a person won't even smell the aromas of Jannah on the Day of Qiyaamat." (Ahmed, Abu Dawud, Ibn Majah)
Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam said: "Acquire knowledge of inheritance and the Quraan and teach it to people because one day I will have to leave this world. (Tirmizi)
I seek refuge with Allah from the accursed Shaytaan.
Allah Ta'aala mentions in the Holy Quraan: "Is the one who worships devoutly during the hours of night, prostrating himself or standing (In adoration) and takes heed of the hereafter while placing his hope in the mercy of his Rabb (Like one who does not)? Say: Are those who know equal to those who do not know? It is only those who are endowed with understanding that receive admonition." (Surah 34)

DUAA TO BE RECITED WHEN A PERSON DIES
When a person has breathed his last, the people present should close his eyes and recite the following Dua:
Allahummagh fir li (Name of deceased) war fa' darajatahu/haa fil mahdiyyeen wakh lufhu/haa fi aqibihi/haa fil ghaabireen wagh fir lana walahu/haa yaa Rabbal Aalameen waf sah lahu/haa fi qabarihi/haa wa nawwir lahu/haa fihi.
("Haa" will be read if the deceased is a female)
O Allah, forgive (Name of deceased); and raise his/her status among the rightly guided people; and be his/her representative among his/her people whom he/she has left behind; forgive us and him/her, O Sustainer of the worlds. O Allah make his/her grave vast and accommodating and fill it with light (Noor).
According to the Hadeeth anyone who is present when a person dies and closes his (the deceased's) eyes and recites the above Dua, the angels say Ameen upon his Dua.

¼ cup oil - 1 cup steak or chicken cut into julienne strips - 1 tsp chilli garlic paste - 2 Tbsp lemon juice - 1 tsp salt - ½ cabbage - shredded - 1 ½ cups carrots- cut into julienne strips - 2 onions- chopped - 1 cup green pepper- chopped - 4 small tomatoes- chopped - ½ cup soya sauce - ¼ cup Steers Peri-Peri sauce - ¼ cup Steers Barbecue sauce - ½ cup spring onions- chopped - ½ cup dhania- chopped.
Heat oil and stir fry the meat. Add chilli garlic paste, lemon juice and salt. Stir in the vegetables, individually, in the order given. Cook each vegetable for 2-3 minutes before adding the next one. Add the sauces and cook until light and crunchy. Lastly add dhania and spring onions. Serve with either pita bread or bread rolls.

longer and not go moldy.
