THE STORY OF THE PEOPLE OF THE ROCK

All praise be to Allah. We thank Him, seek His help and take recourse to Him from our bad deeds and the sins we have committed. When Allah guides a person, he is never misguided. When He has caused somebody to go astray, he is never guided.

I testify that there is no deity worthy of worship but Allah and I testify that Muhammad (Salla Allahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) is His slave and Messenger. O Allah, have mercy on him, his family, his companions and all who follows their path till the Day of Judgment.

Allah says which translates as: "O Mankind! Revere your Guardian-Lord, who created you from a single Person, created, of like nature, his mate, and from them twain scattered (like seeds) countless men and women; fear Allah, through Whom you demand your mutual (rights), and (reverence) the wombs (that bore you): for Allah ever watches over you." "O you who believe, fear Allah, and (always) say a word directed to the Right: That He may make your conduct whole and sound and forgive you your sins: he that obeys Allah and His Messenger, has already attained the highest Achievement" (An-Nisa': 1).

The Prophet (Salla Allahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) used many methods in order to call people to Islam. For example, he used to tell them true realistic stories as well as the stories of the earlier nations so that they would deduce lessons from them. In these stories, Allah says which translates as: "there is a message for any that has a heart and understanding or who gives ear and earnestly witnesses the truth" (Qaaf: 37).

Stories have an undeniable effect on people. Let's mention, brothers in Islam, one of the stories about one of the earlier nations as narrated by the Prophet (Salla Allahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) so that we can deduce useful lessons. Bukhari and Muslim reported that `Abdullah bin `Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I heard the Prophet (Salla Allahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) say: "While three persons were traveling, the night fell and they had to enter a cave in a mountain in order to spend the night. A big rock rolled over and blocked the mouth of the cave. They said to each other: Nothing could rescue you but invoking Allah with the best deed you have performed (so Allah might remove the rock)". One of them said, 'O Allah! My parents were old and I used to go out to collect wood. On my return I would milk (the animals) and take the milk in a vessel to my parents to drink. After they had drunk from it, I would give it to my children, family and wife. One day I was delayed and on my return I found my parents sleeping, but I disliked to wake them up, or to feed my family before them. I waited with the vessel in my hand with my children crying at my feet (because of hunger) until dawn when they woke up and drank their share of the milk. O Allah! If You regard that I did it for Your sake, then please remove this rock so that we may see the sky.' So, the rock was moved a bit but it was too small for them to get out. read more

500g tenderized steak cut into strips
2 Tbsp oil
1 tsp chilli garlic paste
1 tsp garlic paste
1 tsp red chillis
1 tsp lemon pepper
1 tsp crushed cumin
1 tsp salt
1 tsp barbeque spice
2 Tbsp vinegar
2 Tbsp oil
1 small onion, chopped
1 med green pepper sliced
1 med red pepper, sliced
2 Tbsp peri peri sauce
2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
2 Tbsp mayonnaise
1 Tbsp tomato

Oven baked chips. Brown bread. Combine all the ingredient except the oil and marinate the steak for 2-3 hours. Heat the oil and stir fry the steak for a few minutes. Add 1 cup water and cook until the steak is tender. Heat oil and stir fry the onions and green and red pepper and add to the steak. Finally add the sauces and simmer until slightly thick. Add more salt or chillies if required. Serve with either chips or bread.
