THE
GLORY OF ISLAAM All praise is due to Allaah, Lord of all the worlds. May peace and blessings of Allaah be upon the noble Prophet, his household and companions. Brothers in faith! The Almighty Allaah says: “But honour, power and glory belong to Allaah, His Messenger and to the believers, but the hypocrites know not.” (Al-Munaafiqoon 63: 8) He also says: “Whoever desires honour, power and glory then to Allaah belongs all honour, power and glory.” (Faatir 35: 10) These above-quoted verses contain a guidance for all humankind; that they should seek for honour and glory from Allaah alone. Whoever believes in Allaah and the prophethood of Muhammad should take pride and glory in his faith, have self-dignity, give his allegiance to the religion of Islaam and be distinguished in his dress and manners. The glory of knowledge and eemaan is totally different from the glory derived from sin and aggression, for the real glory is the one that is sought from Allaah and not from any human being. As for the mean soul, it is neither useful nor can it bring any good unless it is totally free from its meanness and knows that noble life can never be achieved except by turning to Allaah and sacrificing oneself to please Him. read more |

Pakistan has offered to mediate in reconciliation talks between the Western Alliance and Taliban, if the country is asked to do so. MOCHA
TRAY BAKE ------------------ 3 cups flour - 2 tsp baking powder - 2 cups castor sugar - ¼ tsp salt - 250g butter - 1 cup water - 2 extra large eggs - 2/3 cup buttermilk - 1 tsp bicarbonate of soda - 1 tsp vanilla essence - 3 Tbsp cocoa powder. Mocha icing: 1 cup icing sugar - 2 tsp cocoa powder - 85g butter/ margarine - 2 tsp instant coffee - 3 tsp boiling water - 50g grated chocolate. In a large mixing bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, castor sugar and salt. Combine butter and water in a saucepan and melt over low heat. Remove from heat and pour into flour mixture and mix well. Beat in the eggs. Combine in the eggs. Combine butter milk, bicarbonate of soda and vanilla together and add to flour mixture. Mix well. Divide mixture between 2 mixing bowls, add sifted cocoa- powder to one. Stir until well combined. Pour the 2 batters in alternate rows into a large, greased 23x30cm baking pan. Draw a skewer through the batter to form a marbled pattern. Bake at 180 % C for 30 to 40 min or until a skewer inserted comes out clean. Remove cake from oven, allow to cool in pan 15 min before removing before removing to a cooling rack to cool completely. Spread with mocha incing. Decorate with grated chocolate. Cut into squares. Mocha icing: Sift icing sugar and cocoa together. Cream butter well and add icing sugar. Dissolve coffee in water and add to icing. Beat until smooth. |

MUCH OF SALT Yes, if you add a raw potato to the broth and then simmer until the potato is cooked, it will take some of the salt out... mainly because it is absorbing some of the broth as well. You can also add more unsalted broth or liquid to your soup, or if it is really over salted, you might want to double the recipe... you can always freeze the extra soup for a later date. |
