Mu`adh
(bin Jabal) RA reported: The Messenger of Allah Sallallahu
Alyhi Wa Sallam held my hand and said, "O Mu`adh, By
Allah, I love you and advise you not to miss supplicating
after every Salah (prayer) saying: `Allahumma a`inni
`ala dhikrika wa shukrika, wa husni `ibadatika,' (O
Allah, help me remember You, expressing gratitude to You
and worship You in the best manner)". [Abu Dawud and
An-Nasa'i]
Commentary: We learn from this Hadith the
following:
1. It is commendable to inform those whom one loves for
Allah's sake, of this love.
2. The superiority of Mu`adh RA.
3. It is commendable to say this Du`a after each obligatory
Salah.
4. It is commendable to seek Allah's Help in order to discharge
one's duties towards Allah in the best possible manner.

has deployed thousands of troops in Urumqi, capital of the
far western Xinjiang region, in an effort to restore calm
between the city's ethnic Uighurs and Han Chinese.

least 22 people including 16 students have been killed by
a roadside bomb in Logar province to the south of Kabul, the
Afghan capital, officials said.

Mango Rice
50g chana dhal
1 ½ cups rice
1 large almost ripe mango
Cloves, tuj, elachi
¼ cup ghee
2 Tbsp oil
1 tsp arad
2 Tbsp chillie powder
2 slit green chillies
Soak
chana dhal in water for ½ hour. Wash rice then boil until
al dante. Meanwhile peel mango and cut into thick slices.
Heat ghee in a large pot with tuj and arad , elachi and chillie
powder . Remove form heat and add in mango slices and fry
gently taking care not to break up the mango. Place rice in
casserole and add mango to it toss very gently. Serve with
any meat dish or with spiced dhai.

I saw myself in a wide green garden, more beautiful than I
could begin to understand. In this garden was a young girl.
I said to her, "How wonderful this place is!"
"Would
you like to see a place even more wonderful than this?"
she asked.
"Oh
yes," I answered. Then taking me by the hand, she led
me on until we came to a magnificent palace, like nothing
that was ever seen by human eyes. The young girl knocked on
the door, and someone opened it. Immediately both of us were
flooded with light.
Only
Allah knows the inner meaning of the maidens we saw living
there. Each one carried in her hand a serving-tray filled
with light. The young girl asked the maidens where they were
going, and they answered her, "We are looking for someone
who was drowned in the sea, and so became a martyr. She never
slept at night, not one wink! We are going to rub funeral
spices on her body."
"Then
rub some on my friend here," the young girl said.
"Once
upon a time," said the maidens, "part of this spice
and the fragrance of it clung to her body -- but then she
shied away."
Quickly
the young girl let go of my hand, turned, and said to me:
"Your
prayers are your light;
Your devotion is your strength;
Sleep is the enemy of both.
Your life is the only opportunity that life can give you.
If you ignore it, if you waste it,
You will only turn to dust."
Then
the young girl disappeared.
