Hurayrah RA reported: Messenger of Allah Sallallahu Alayhi
Wasallam said, "A Dinar you spend in Allah's way, or
to free a slave, or as a charity you give to a needy person,
or to support your family, the one yielding the greatest reward
is that which you spend on your family". [Muslim]
Commentary:
A Muslim is ordained to spend first of all on the need of
his wife and children and their food and clothes. There is
greater reward for him in this because these expenses are
obligatory on him while spending on other items is in the
nature of Nawafil. Obviously, one cannot forego the former
for the latter. |

| RECIPE |
SUCCULENT
GARLIC STEAK
Ingredients
1 Kg tenderised steak - cut into pieces - 1 tsp salt - 1 tsp
fine red chillies - 1/2 tsp ground black pepper - 1/2 cup
tomatoe juice - 2 tbsp viegar - 1/4 cup oil - 4 -5 tbsp mayonnaise
- 1 tbl garlic.
Method
Mix all the ingredients together and marinate steak overnight.
Place steak in the oven tray and cover with foil. Place in
200 degree preheated oven for 20 min. Turn steak and lower
heat to 160 degree. Cover with foil again and bake for a further
20 min. Remove foil and grill for 5- 10 minutes on each side.
Brush with ghee and serve with garlic potatoes. Alternate-
braai the steak. |
