Huzayfah
Ibn Al-Yaman RA How did Hudhayfah come to have this choice'? His father, al-Yaman was a Makkan from the tribe of Abs. He had killed someone and had been forced to leave Makkah. He had settled down in Yathrib, becoming an ally (Halif) of the Banu al-Ash-hal and marrying into the tribe. A son named Hudhayfah was born to him. The restrictions on his returning to Makkah were eventually lifted and he divided his time between Makkah and Yathrib but stayed more in Yathrib and was more attached to it. This was how Hudhayfah had a Makkan origin but a Yathribite upbringing. When the rays of Islam began to radiate over the Arabian Peninsula, a delegation from the Abs tribe, which included al-Yaman, went to the Prophet (Sallallahu Alyhi Wa Sallam) and announced their acceptance of Islam. That was before the Prophet (Sallallahu Alyhi Wa Sallam) migrated to Yathrib. Huzayfah grew up in a Muslim household and was taught by both his mother and father who were among the first persons from Yathrib to enter the religion of God. He therefore became a Muslim before meeting the Prophet, peace be upon him. Huzayfah longed to meet the Prophet (Sallallahu Alyhi Wa Sallam). From an early age, he was keen on following whatever news there was about him. The more he heard, the more his affection for the Prophet (Sallallahu Alyhi Wa Sallam) grew and the more he longed to meet him. He eventually journeyed to Makkah, met the Prophet (Sallallahu Alyhi Wa Sallam) and put the question to him, "Am I a Muhajir or am I an Ansari, O Rasulullah?" "If you wish you may consider yourself among the Muhajirin, or if you wish you may consider yourself one of the Ansar. Choose whichever is dearer to you," replied the Prophet (Sallallahu Alyhi Wa Sallam). "Well, I am an Ansari. O Rasulullah," decided Hudhayfah. read more |

The Afghan government has called for an international media blackout on reporting violent acts on the day of its presidential elections, following a series of attacks across the country. Barack Obama, the US president, has said that there has been "movement in the right direction" on Israel's policy of building settlements on occupied Palestinian land, after talks with Egypt's president. South Korea is preparing for its first space launch, which if successful will make it the latest nation to join the region's space race and the 10th in the world to send its own communications satellite into orbit from its own soil. Minister of Health, Dr Aaron Motsoaledi, says that the public will be able to request more information or ask specific questions related to the H1N1 Influenza, or swine flu, via a hotline, from today. | Meat
Roll (04.08.09) 500g beef mince 1 Tbsp ground green chillies 3 Tbsp cooking oil 1 ½ tsp salt ½ tsp black pepper 50g carrots and peas 250g mash potato 1 tsp green chillies 1 tsp salt Juice 2 lemons ½ bunch green dhana chopped Mix first 5 ingredients and pound until smooth, then flatten on sheet of foil paper to a thickness of 1cm. Mix the rest of the ingredients and flatten carefully on top of the mince. Roll like swiss roll and secure the ends tightly. Place in baking pan and bake at 180 degrees fro 45minutes then cool for 3 – 4 hours. Then slice, dip in egg and breadcrumbs and freeze or fry in medium hot oil. |
