Surah
Al-Muddaththir 74: - (The Enveloped One)
This Surah is Makki. It contains 56 verses and 2 sections
With the name of Allah, the All-Merciful, the Very-Merciful
For
when the trumpet is blown, [8]
that day will be a difficult day, [9]
not easy for the disbelievers. [10]
COMMENTARY:
Having given these few injunctions to the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu
Alyhi Wa Sallam), the verses further refer to the Hereafter
and its horrors. The word Naqiir means 'trumpet' and the verb
Nuqira means 'to blow into the trumpet so that it makes a
loud high sound'. After stating that the Day of Doom will
be very horrible for all the infidels, a particular arrogant
and conceited disbeliever has been described. He was a great
mischief-maker and the gravity of his punishment will befit
the enormity and gravity of his sins.

A
drop in gale-force winds has offered a respite to Greek firefighters
struggling to control a raging fire near Athens.
Religious
officials in Malaysia have freed a Muslim mother of two who
had been sentenced to be caned for drinking beer in a hotel.
Chinese
authorities are expected to begin the trials this week of
some 200 people accused of involvement in last month's deadly
riots in the western region of Xinjiang, according to state
media.
The
National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) says it has suspended
its strike after receiving an improved wage offer.
The
SACP has come out in defence of the cabinet's economic cluster
and dismissed criticism of ministers who serve in the cluster. |

MONGOLIAN
STIR-FRY
Ingredients:
¼
cup oil
1 cup steak or chicken – cut into julienne strips
1 tsp chilli garlic paste
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 tsp salt
½ cabbage shredded
1 ½ cups carrots - cut into julienne strips
2 onions – chopped
1 cup green pepper – chopped
4 small tomatoes – chopped
½ cup soya sauce
¼ cup steers peri-peri sauce
¼ cup steers barbeque sauce
½ cup spring onions – chopped
½ cup dhannia – chopped
Method:
•
Heat oil and stir fry the meat.
• Add chilli garlic paste, lemon juice and salt
• Stir in the vegetables, individually, in the order given.
Cook each vegetable for 2-3 minutes before adding the next
one
• Add the sauces and cook until light and crunchy
• Lastly add dhannia and spring onions
• Serve with either pitta bread or bread rolls
