THE STORY
A WISE WOMAN
---------------

Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam once proposed to the father of a woman from the Ansaar on behalf of Julaibeeb. The father said: "Allow me to first consult with her mother."

Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam agreed. The father then left to discuss the issue with his wife.
She remarked: "Never! Did Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam not find anybody besides Julaibeeb, whereas we have declined the proposals of so and so?"

In the meanwhile, the daughter was quietly listening to the discussion. Just as the father was about go out and inform Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam of their decision, the daughter said : "Do you intend to reject the proposal made by the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam. If Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam is happy to marry him in your family then proceed with the marriage."
They replied: "You are correct."

The father went to Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam and said : "If you are pleased with him, so are we."
Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam responded: "I am pleased with him."

The marriage was performed.

Julaibeeb later participated in a battle. After the battle had ended Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam noticed that Julaibeeb was missing and instructed the Sahabah to search for him. His body was found in the midst of a number of disbelievers who he had killed. Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam came to him and said: "He killed seven disbelievers and the disbelivers killed him. He is from me and I am from him."

Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam carried him in his arms and burried him. Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam also made a dua for his widow: "O Allah, shower Your blessings upon her and let not her life be one of hardship." A narrator of the incident mentions that no widow from the Ansaar would spend as much as her (meaning that she became very well to do.) (Musnad Ahmad)

RECIPE

CHOCOLATE – SWIRL LOAF CAKE
Makes: 1 loaf - Preparation time: 20 minutes
Baking time: 1 hour - Oven temperature: 180 degree cel
-----------------------------------------------------

125 g soft butter - 225 castor sugar - 2 large eggs - 10 ml vanilla essence - 280 g cake flour - 10 ml baking powder - 125 ml milk - 100 g Nutella.

Grease and line a 1, 1 litre loaf tin. Beat the butter and castor sugar until light. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in the vanilla essence. Fold in the flour and the baking powder, alternating with the milk. Transfer half of the mixture into a separate bowl and fold in the chocolate spread. Spoon alternating spoonfuls of the chocolate and vanilla mixture into the prepared loaf tin. Use a blunt knife to create swirls in the mixture in the loaf tin. Bake in a preheated oven for one hour or until a skewer comes out clean. Remove from the oven and leave to cool on a wire rack. Serve sliced and spread with extra Nutella if you prefer.

HEALTH TIPs
ACHING JOINTS
---------------
Aching joints can occur at any age. Sometimes it may be caused by sensitivity to certain foods--many times white flour, white sugar, dairy products, and vegetables in the nightshade family (tomatoes, white potatoes, and eggplant) are the culprits. Dehydration may also cause joint pain if you don't get enough water. You can add foods to your diet that can help with relieving the pain--cayenne pepper (can also be used in a cream to rub on the painful area), ginger, and tumeric. Pineapple eaten by itself will help ease inflammation (joints and muscles).

A THOUGHT

GUIDANCE
-----------

There are two independent and distinct (types of) guidance. Success and prosperity cannot be gained except by them. They both contain the knowledge and acquaintance of that which we do not know of the truth, in both a general and specific sense, as well as our being inspired to the truth and being made to desire following it inwardly and outwardly. Then (they contain) the creation of the capability for us (by Allaah) to perform the requirements of this guidance with respect to speech, action and firm resolution.

(Then after all of this), being made to remain firm and established upon it until death. It is from the above that this extreme need of the servant for supplicating above every other need..
