Please find the attached document with details for moon-sighting this evening, Monday 29 September 2008, insha-Allah.

Kindly encourage your congregation to search for the moon marking the end of Ramadan and the beginning of Shawwal 1429. If the moon is sighted, please inform the Jamiatul Ulama's Central Hilaal Committee on 011 373 8000 or 072 143 9901. In the event that there shall be no sighting of the moon, the month of Ramadan shall be of 30 days and Eid Day (1 Shawwal 1429) shall correspond to Wednesday 1 October 2008.

The Jamiatul Ulama wishes all Muslims the world over a blessed and joyous Eid-ul-Fitr. May the Almighty accept our humble sacrifices of the departing Month of Ramadan.

Abu Muhammad Jubair bin Mut`im (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: Messenger of Allah Sallallahu Alyhi Wa Sallam said, "The person who severs the bond of kinship will not enter Jannah". [Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

Commentary: This Hadith poses a serious threat to those who violate the Divine injunctions of maintaining good ties of kinship. In spite of such a serious warning, this major sin is very common in our present-day society. The purpose of this warning is that Muslims prevent themselves from it. May Allah save us from it.

At least six people have been killed and 17 injured after a car bomb exploded in the northern Lebanese city of Tripoli. The blast targeted a bus carrying troops in northern Lebanon.

US congressional leaders have reached a tentative agreement on a proposed $700bn taxpayer bail-out for the country's troubled financial sector. The deal includes numerous safeguards added to the original proposal by the Bush administration, including protection for taxpayer dollars and curbs on executive salaries.

Mix all ingredients together and cook over low heat until meat is tender.
2 cupsd macaroni (optional) - ¾ cup mixed veg.
Add ½ tsp salt and boil till cooked, then drain.
1 tsp ghee - 1 level tsp grounf garlic - ½ tsp green chillie - 2 large tomatoes - 1 onion sliced - salt and arad - pinch of powder chille.
Mix all ingredients together and cook until tomatoes are mushy and moisture evaporates.
1 1/2 cups milk - 1 tbls flour - 1 tblsp butter - cheese – grated.

Melt butter in saucepan, dissolve flour in milk and add to saucepan. Add cheese simmer till sauce thickens. Toss all four steps of ingredients in a casserole dish and then cover with the cheese. Decorate with tomatoes and green peppers slices. Bake in moderate oven for 15/20 mins.
