| THE FRIDAY KHUTBAH (SERMON) |
RECEIVING
RAMADAAN – Rescuers from Trials
by Sh Abdul Baarie Ath Thubaitie
IMAAM of MADINA MUNAWWARAH
----------------------------------
All
praise is due to Allaah, Lord of all the worlds. May peace
and blessings of Allaah be upon the Messenger, his household
and companions.
Brothers
in faith! The Messenger of Allaah has informed us that among
the signs of The Hour is the appearance of trials and they
shall continue to appear until The Hour comes.
Among
the companions of the Prophet, there was a particular companion
who was much concerned about the Hadeeth that have to do with
trials. That companion was Huthaifah Ibn Al-Yamaan. He used
to say, ‘The companions of the Prophet used to ask him about
good things, but I used to ask him about evil matters out
of fear of being afflicted by them.’
Fellow
Muslims! In these days we are afflicted by different kinds
of trials and tribulations that subject people’s thoughts
and conduct to changes; trials that come one after the other;
waves of trials in these days do not only overwhelm people,
but overwhelm them along with their thoughts and beliefs.
And the waves of beliefs and realities are probably the essence
of trials of this age and many are the victims of these trials.
Allaah
threatens Muslims with trials if they turn away from the religion
of their Lord and His laws when He says, “And let those who
oppose the Messenger’s (Muhammad’s) commandments beware lest
some trials befall them or a painful torment be inflicted
upon them.” (An-Noor: 63).
The
trial in this verse includes all kinds of punishments like
killing, disasters, imposing of a tyrant ruler and disease.
It is a general trial that when it occurs leaves none behind.
Allaah says, “And fear the trial which affect not in particular
(only) those of you who do wrong, (but it may afflict all
the good and bad people).” (Al-Anfaal: 25). read

| A THOUGHT |
SIXTH
SENSE
-------------
The Prophet Sallallahu Alyhi Wa Sallam said: Three things
of your world is dear to me sweet scent, wife, and prayer
which has been made doll to my eyes. It appears from the above
Hadeeth that prayer is not within the five senses but it is
included within the sixth sense of the soul.
He
who has no heart cannot grasp it. Man and beast are equal
in the happiness of the five senses. If love of Allah is considered
as appertaining to those five senses, then it is impossible
to love Him.
The
sixth sense is intellect, light, heart, mind or soul. The
inner eye is more powerful than the external eye and the mind's
eye is more powerful than the external eye. The beauty which
can be perceived through intellect is more than that of eyesight.
As the beauties of the world appear pleasing to the external
eye, the sight of the existence of Allah and the beauties
of His creation are thousand and thousand times more pleasing
to him. So love of Allah cannot be denied,. but he who has
not crossed the limit of a beast can not perceive it.

| THE SMILE |
OVERLOADED
-------------
My wife, a flight attendant for a major airline, watched one
day as a passenger overloaded with bags tried to stuff his
belongings in the overhead bin of the plane. Finally, she
informed him that he would have to check the oversized luggage.
"When I fly other airlines," he said irritably,
"I don't have this problem."
My wife smiled, "When you fly other airlines, I don't
have this problem either." |
