THE STORY |
LOVE
MISSED
-------------
A
student asked his teacher, "What is love?"
The
teacher said, "in order to answer your question, go
to the wheat-field and choose the biggest wheat then come
back. But
the rule is: you must go through them only once and you
cannot turn back to pick."
The
student went to the field, going through the first row,
he saw one big wheat, but he wondered... maybe there is
a bigger one later. Then he saw another bigger one... but
maybe there is an even bigger one waiting for him. Later,
when he finished more than half of the wheat-field, he realised
that the wheat was not as big as the previous one he saw,
he knew he had missed the biggest one, and he regretted.
So,
he ended up going back to the teacher empty handed. The
teacher told him, "...this is love... you keep looking
for better ones, but when later you realise, you have already
missed the person".

An
Afghan court has sentenced a South African man to 16 years
in prison for trying to board a plane at Kabul's international
airport with a bag full of heroin. Afghanistan is the world's
largest producer of opium. While many low-level traffickers
have been convicted on drug smuggling charges, many more are
able to slip drugs across Afghanistan's porous borders to
reach Western markets. The drug trade is flourishing under
the rule of US backed Afghan president Hamid Karzai.
At
least 80 people are dead after a 6.5 magnitude earthquake
hit southwestern Pakistan. The earthquake caused buildings
to collapse and prompted widespread panic in Baluchistan province
early yesterday. The death toll is expected to rise.
A
former political prisoner has unseated Asia's longest-serving
leader to become the first democratically elected president
of the Maldives. Mohamed Nasheed, the leader of the Maldivian
Democratic party (MDP), beat incumbent Maumoon Abdul Gayoom,
securing about 54 per cent of the votes.
The
former Free State leader of the National Party (NP), Inus
Aucamp, and several other local NP leaders have apparently
thrown their weight behind the ANC dissidents, the Volksblad
newspaper reported today. We would like to grab the opportunity
and work together to lay the foundations of the new party,"
the report quoted Aucamp as saying. The others, who with Aucamp
were organising a meeting with Lekota in Bloemfontein today,
are former NP members Johan Swanepoel and Pieter Vorster.
A
house robber was killed and another injured during a house
robbery in Azaadville early this morning. Community Policing
Forum Member, Mohammed Tara, says three men entered the home
around 3:30am. The owner of the home was apparently on holiday
and his brother was looking after the house. The robbers tied
the man and his wife up. They however manage to alert family
members who responded. One robber managed to flee. A second
was injured as he tried to runaway and was apprehended. The
third robber was shot and killed. |

HEALTH TIPs |
Imam
Shafee RA said: "Four things make the body strong: eating
meat, using scents, taking a bath and putting on linen clothing.
Four
things make the body idle: excessive s e x u a l - i n t e
r c o u r s e, too much thinking, too much drinking of water
when hungry and too much of pepper.
Four
things give power of eye-sight: to sit towards the Qibla,
to use Surmah (antimony) before sleep, to look towards green
colour and to keep the clothes clean.
Four
things reduce the eye-sight: to look at unclean and impure
things, to see one being hanged, to look at the female organ
and to sit keeping the Qibla behind."

A THOUGHT |
ALLAH,
THE FLAWLESS CREATOR
-------------------------------------
Evolutionists
believe that the earth, the universe, the stars and all
living things are a result of chance. Those who say this
say the same about our eyes. They say, “The eyes occurred
by themselves and through coincidence.” Can such a complex
and wonderful system form by itself? Let us give an example
to clarify how ridiculous this opinion is:
Engineers
have manufactured the photographic and video cameras by
copying the human eye. However, none of this equipment gives
as clear a view as your eyes do. Now lift your head from
the book and look around you. Isn’t your vision clear? There
is no blur, snowy dots or missing lines in your vision.
Now look at your screen. Quite often, you see snowy dots
or skipped lines in the image. Even when these don’t happen
and even with all the new technology, screens still do not
produce the perfect images that your eyes do.
Now,
let’s think for a moment. This means that our eyes are a
lot more advanced and are of better quality than any video
or photographic camera or television. What would you do
if someone came up to you and said something like the following?
“There was a storm that caused some electrical cables, screws,
hammers, screwdrivers to fly out the door and windows, to
fly out of the house, and then all of them got together
in the backyard. Then there was some rain and thunder and
these things were mixed with the soil. Some time passed
and I saw a television set emerge. I picked it up and brought
it home.”

PURCHASING
THE SHOES
mathematics
------------
A shoeseller meets a mathematician and complains that he does
not know what size shoes to buy. "No problem," says
the mathematician, "there is a simple equation for that,"
and he shows him the Gaussian normal distribution (bell-shaped
curve). The shoeseller stares some time at het equation and
asks, "What is that symbol?" "That is the Greek
letter pi." "What is pi?" "That is the
ratio between the circumference and the diameter of a circle."
Upon this the shoeseller cries out: "What does a circle
have to do with shoes?!" |
